Domestic PSP 3000 is $170-ish. Domestic PSPgo is $250-ish. Japanese import of a "vibrant blue" PSP 3000 is $220-ish.

Oh, come oooon, why does it have to be in my price range? If it was more expensive than the Go, it would be so easy to shrug off, but it's not! It's blue and less than the Go and not that much more than a domestic console. It's still... a lot for a color, isn't it? It's so pretty though... and a really good price for an import. (Except Amazon JP has it for way, way less. But they won't ship it to the U.S., so argh.)

However! Portables aren't region coded, so technically, there is no advantage to getting a Japanese PSP other than bragging rights. Dammit. It's so pretty.

I also have no idea whether customs would smack a huge fee on it or not. I keep trying different websites that either go "Check your local customs' website to find out about your country's policies!" or "LEGAL BABBLE LEGAL BABBLE LEGAL BABBLE." How much to ship a Japanese PSP into the U.S.? That's all I wanna know! Are we talking no fee, $10, $20, (heaven forbid) $50+? I'mma be an import gamer, y'see, but if the fee to get an import system into the country is too crazy expensive, forget it. It's a fortune for the games as it is and, again, this isn't a region coded system. I can get a boring black/silver PSP and play Persona 3 Portable on it just fine.

All I know is I'm not getting a PSPgo because 1) ow, the price, I'll import first, and 2) I don't like slider controls. If it was a flip like the DS -- they probably wouldn't dare go that route because of the DS, mind you -- then I'd be tempted, but a slider? Ew. Someone told me to get a Go because of all the extra features, like... apparently you can watch TV on it? Seriously? That's... overkill. It's a game system, not a computer. Internet browsing sounds awesome, but it's not remotely why I want it. Persona 3 Persona 3 Persona 3
