Woke up at four in the morning to take an ibuprofen. Dropped the glass of water on my laptop. So not a good way to start the day. At least it was closed and off, so the keyboard didn't get the worst of it.

As you can tell -- or I guess you can't for sure, since I could be using another computer or something -- the laptop has since dried and doesn't appear to have sustained any damage. This is perhaps the highlight of the day.

The ibuprofen wore off this afternoon in the craziest El ride I've had in a while. I got into the subway just as a train was pulling up and it was packed. Especially for the time and place. As the ride went on, "packed like sardines" seems an understatement for the conditions. The problem with this wasn't so much getting caught without anything to hold onto and being so close to strangers, but rather no one could get off at their stops. Then they stopped at Lake, announced they'd be running express past my stop, so I forced my way out, then they announced, "Wait. Actually we're not. Oh, yes, we are!" Wary, I stayed off as it sat there for another minute. "Yeah, we're not running express yet." Thanks. I really needed to fight my way back into that crowd as I'm starting to feel sore and ill.

Now I've got to finish some icky, icky homework. I was assigned over one hundred pages of reading mostly from Moby Dick (the syllabus claimed it would only be fifty per week), plus 5-7 (handwritten, because typing is EVIL) journal entries and five stories to hand in. Is this insane and unreasonable for one week's worth of homework for just one (already terrible) class, y/y?
