Is it a sign that I'm clinging to the past when the new Butterfly Boucher album comes out only in mp3 format and I'm waiting to hear if an actual CD will ever be out too? 'Cos damn I don't like mp3 albums. My computer doesn't have infinite space, you know. Besides, I just like having the physical item. This is also why I strongly dislike eBooks as anything more than a promotional tool. For that matter, I'll take normal shopping over Internet shopping any day. Which is... rather strange, considering I just about live on my computer.

Ugh, every time I think I'm over this stupid cold, something happens like I wake up feeling just fine, then end up trying to cough up a lung.

I did start Retry the Revival (that's what I'm calling sci-fi version until I come up with a proper title), but I'm not sure if I like it so far. I think it will get there, but I really wasn't sure what to do for the opening bit and it's... eh. We'll see. Starts are always my biggest challenge.

Part of the problem is that I was thinking too much of Original Retry, where there's quite a bit of setting up the location and people, but I was going for something different there. There I wanted to give the illusion that this will be a happy story about a young boy having adventures in his little village- oh wait, he just got kidnapped, nevermind. This time I start him older and I've realized I can skim his family and friends a little more. But how to have them exist without needing too much introduction?

Also, I really like his new home. Very green planet. With giant windmills and giant valleys that have bridges over them. I've never had something to describe in such detail with no clue where to start. Usually my backdrops are bland enough I can just give a few examples of the land and the reader can fill in the blanks, but this time I need to figure out how to juggle the narrative with description. Ew.
