I just saw five more episodes of Firefly.
OMG SO MUCH PRETTY.
And, dude? Mal is totally the daddy on that boat. Inara is the eccentric aunt and everyone else is a more or less wayward child. (Jayne being on the "more" side--the last ep they screened was "Ariel" I was all "OH NO HE DIDN'T!") River so said "Daddy will save us!" when the hill people took them! It's canon, I swear!
I also love Inara's various "Bitch, I will cut you" looks. And Simon's complete inability to kick ass in spite of his best efforts.
And Kaylee = snoopypez. :-)
Is it wrong that I want to see some Simon/River fic?
and OH OH OH I understood some of the Chinese in this episode! Not much--but I definitely caught "dōng ma" and "měi měi". This makes me happy beyond belief.
Last five episodes next week. It's looking unlikely that out friend the Cinema 8 will get "Serenity," but hopefully it'll still be playing when I'm home for midterm--or I can find someone driving to Columbia.
