I just realized something last night, and I'm not sure if this is some kind of synesthesia or just my brain being, well, my brain: but most pop music, for me, has colors.
I realized this in particular because I had just heard whatever new song Colbie Caillat released, the one that's basically the lyrical clone of "Stereo Heart" by the Gym Class Heroes, and I was wondering how hard it would be to mash the two up when they've got basically the same lyrics structure. But then I realized that the colors didn't go together, because Colbie Caillat is yellow, and Adam Levine is purple. (Specifically, a sort of banana yellow vs. very dark indigo.) I can't say why they are these colors, but once I thought about it more consicously I realized that it just made intuitive sense.
The Killers? Metallic silver. Pink? Black, oddly enough. Everclear? Slate blue.
I don't think other kinds of music do this to me. Other kinds of sounds certainly don't.
I just...huh. Hmm. ::ponders::
