So maybe I'm not entirely socially inept

I was in town today - to use the post office - so I took the opportunity to visit the fabric and yarn shops while I was there. In the first one I struck up a conversation with a woman about crochet - we were standing in the yarn section at the time - which very quickly morphed into a conversation about costuming (it's her job), corsets and haberdashery, knitting, dogs, and husbands. By the time we'd finished, we were outline planning me a shopping trip to London that started at 'Knit London, took in Forbidden Planet, and ended up at MacCulloch and Wallis.

Side note: You know you're talking to a kindred spirit when you mention Forbidden Planet to a total stranger in a conversation about something entirely "else" and they don't just give you a blank look :D
