My spiritual journey pt 1

Growing up my parents were not very strict on me attending Sunday school.  I went every once in awhile to East Side Lutheran Church here in town.  They have told me they thought it was important for me to have some kind of religious foundation.  When I was in the 8th grade I started confirmation classes that would last for the next couple of years.  I had to attend class every Wednesday night to learn about the Lutheran Church.  My freshman year of high school I was confirmed.  It was around this time that I started questioning what I had been told to believe.  There were some major things I just did not agree with.  I also started to question if an afterlife really existed (there is no scientific evidence after all-i thought at the time) and if God existed.  I quit going to Church.  In the next few years-the rest of my high school career-I would be introduced to Marilyn Manson, have disturbing dreams about Satan, and lose someone who was like a brother to me.  All of which contributed to my spiritual progress.
