Lately, well ever since I got into Gaga, I have been contemplating the Illuminati, conspiracies, good vs evil, our spiritual nature, the state of things on Earth, etc. One sight I like is vigilant citizen. A lot of the commentators on the sight are somewhat out there, heck even the dude that runs the sight is sort of that way at times. There was

Just reading about the man who brought Thelema into the forefront again (it's really just a tiny branch of ancient Paganism) on Wikipedia will not only procure what a narcisstic nut-job he was, but also his fruitless attempts at sexual this and that -- particularly after his marriage collapsed.
I like the symbols though. I mean, they're cool in a geometric sense, naturally they look good slapped on advertising or whatever. A crucifix would be too obvious (as would an upside down crucifix). As an artistic person, and a spiritual one, I can't help but admire symbols.
Well...I mean if all this really disturbs you, I probably can't talk you out of it. It is intersting, but lodges/shriners/masons have been doing rituals for a long time. It's a bonding thing, it's a way of making the elite (uh, the rich) feel even more elite and powerful. Do I believe it actually puts a whammy on anything? No. They've also used such things as a way to hold women and non-whites down. Witch trials were to keep women from having power by accusing any gathering of females of being a coven!
If a person is invited to do them, it's damn insulting to turn them down. That can be true. JFK pushed for equal rights -- racism and racist fear of losing power was probably the presidents biggest downfall. He was also Catholic and that was against the grain too.
Now if one does all this odd ball stuff, then you're more likely to feel bonded to one another and push each other's agendas. It would also probably sound pretty ridiculous if one tolad anyone else what went down; I think that's part of the idea too. I do think by power and influence it can be a way to control things, but not with actual magical power. Shit, look what happened to Nixon. "Pride goeth before a fall." Satan learned that too (coined it actually). You're right that the philosphy teaches one to sort of self worship.
Any ritual is designed to help a person hone themselves, I don't care if they put on a tutu and dance around silly putty while singing the national anthem. Our society misunderstands so much in the modern era -- like Jehovah is a word based on a mispelling, based on a pronounciation of a word no one is supposed to say anyway. So, does the word Jehovah have any power? I'm not sure. But it's not the unspeakable's name. Maybe in the mind it doesn't really matter what one calls their God. It's the power of the thought.
Want another odd fact? King James was a flaming homosexual. Yeah, as in the bible.
Re: Messiahs -- that's kinda what I mean. We may not see some great force now that can get us out of this mess, but that doesn't mean it won't show up. I'm not totally going to rule out a second coming however. Hey. If it doesn't though, it's OK, it's because it was the fate of the human race to be too blind and too selfish, but not because of a hocus pocus agenda. The Earth will just return to it's rightful owners: the dinosaurs. :P

I don't know that much about Thelema. Where did you read about this?
It is easy to blame rascism on different assassinations. For instance we are taught in school that MLK Jr was killed because of his civil rights cause. In October I visited the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis and learned for the first time that his life was not threatened until he started talking against the economic structure of our country. Tell me why that is NEVER mentioned in our history classes? I didn't even know that he was pretty much against capitalism. Think of all the others who don't know this, pretty sad.
Anyways gotta get ready for work:(

Researching ancient Paganism for fun is where I first learned about it. However, Thelema is the scientology of England and still gets bandied about for hocus-pocus mumbo-jumbo, like "lonelygirl15" who made a career of it.
Know what I'm researching for fun now? Grammar. Yup. Little more practical. I'm always up to something.
