I'm so tired. Yesterday I had to go dress shopping again, and I reached my limit. Since I was born I have just always had this aversion to shopping, and particularly trying on clothes. Odd, because I love costumes, but I find that fun and like it has a purpose. I'm supposed to find the bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding. She doesn't know who will exactly be in the wedding party, the the options range from a stick skinny girl to a plump tomboy. Which ever girl is chosen changes what is needed of the dress. I hate shopping. It stinks trying to guess what my sister wants from Nashville. Normally, I would just find a dress I was happy with, buy it, and be done.
Yesterday was also the St. John's Block Party in Rochester. My uncle Steve is one of the organizers and invites me down every year, and every year I've had to decline. Well, now I've gone. Ashley and I drove down, listening to the Plain White T's (who we had seen last weekend at the Basilica Block Party). Well, since then I have had her favorite song, "I Will Write you a Song," STUCK IN MY HEAD. Now, it's a great song, and I agree with her taste, but that whole block party I just wanted to get rid of it. I even came up with alternate lyrics, such as "I will buy you a house". I could use a house, I have "Michelle My Belle." Ashley says a song is better, and that since "Michelle My Belle" was not written for me, it doesn't count.
The block party was great. My uncle got us in for free, and at the end of the night gave us a block of drink tickets (and felt bad that he didn't get them to us earlier). We ate during the first band, which I don't remember who they were but they were fairly good. Next, was Trampled by Turtles, which was why Ashley wanted us to go, and they were very good. My uncle couldn't believe we hadn't heard them before. It ended with Sister Hazel, but we were busy watching my uncle talk down the guy trespassing on a roof.
I barely slept because I was A: warm B: listening to the horses, dogs, and people running around to take care of Savanna, a very ill horse.
Getting up and driving out, Ashley and I just had a great time having the road in front of us- talking about our future, listening to music, and watching the wildflowers. Sometimes, I just love the questions and possibilities that are being set before me over the next twelve months.
