(no subject)
Wow, this journal is so neglected. And I was getting so good at updating semi-regularly, too.
My past month or so has been consumed by Suikoden V. (Yes, I know a hardcore nut like me should, by fanboy law, have attempted to complete it on its day of release. But I figured, hey, I mightn't get to play another one for 3 years, so I should take my time with this one.)
I think I'm almost at the end now, and just got to the part where Sialeeds bites the big one. Man, that crushed me. She was pretty much my favourite character in a game full of great characters (even after her 'betrayal', which didn't seem convincing to me anyway). I think her death got to me more than Arshtat and Ferid's, which is saying a lot. I was kinda hoping the Prince would use his rune to heal her, but I guess that only works on slightly-irritating bodyguards.
This is the best game I've played in a long time. I've heard it hasn't sold well at all, which is a shame. I just hope the negative reaction to IV (whether justified or not) hasn't left a permanent mark on the series.
Saw Silent Hill the other day. Overall I enjoyed it a lot, despite its flaws ("BURN THE WITCH!!!111"). Hands-down the best videogame adaptation ever, but still far from being a classic. Still, there are far worse ways to kill 2 hours. I'm praying for a sequel based on the second game...that would rock.
