prodigy
Once there was a prodigy, who made her parents proud.
She played and laughed and toyed about, always rather loud.
She never misbehaved as such, she was a perfect child.
Her nature invited all those in, a girl so sweet and mild.
Her mother taught her etiquette, her father taught her manners.
And when in Jersey, join and shout, she helped them wave their banners.
Poised and perfect with music as her grace.
Ophelia did grow and grow, the town all knew her face.
Dear mother knew it wouldn't last.
She was too special. She changed too fast.
