This is not a fanfiction.
By definition, a fanfiction is a story made by a fan basing on an already published work. I certainly didn't based this in an original work. And I'm certainly not a fan. Uhm, well, before I wasn't a fan but they grew on me. Okayy... so maybe it is a fanfiction now, but it didn't start as one.
Anyway, hi! Alodia here! And this story is not about me, but about my fans. Interesting, ne?
It all started when I first went to Japan for work.
It was mid-September when Kaname mailed me. He invited me for a cosplay event on Japan on Halloween. He said it was an annual event in Tokyo.
I was sure I would be busy on Halloween, but I just couldn't pass it up. I live for art. And cosplay is my favorite form. And it was Japan. All I love came from Japan. Plus, Kaname had said our other friends was invited as well and I really miss them. It would be a reunion for us.
I replied without second thoughts, saying we'd (of course I'm taking Ashley with me) be glad to come.
Both me and Ashley prepared our costume. We decided to just use old costumes instead of making a new one since it wasn't really a formal gathering. We weren't there for work. It was more like ust a simple halloween party. I was all for using our Witchblade costumes, cause it's Japan and surely their costumes would be on a high level. But Ashley complained that it was hard to move about wearing those. She was all for using or Death Note costumes, but it was too simple for my liking. In the end we settled for our Alice In Wonderland costume. Ashley would be going as Alice and me as the White Queen.
Days flew by fast with all my filming and photoshoots (and of course in between those, online games! XD). Suddenly, it was the day before the event. Feeling very much excited, I and my family went aboard the plane. The journey only last about an hour but it was already night so we went straight to our hotel and checked in. After that we had dinner and we just stayed in our hotel room preparing for the next day's event.
Morning the next day, my family and I went and ate breakfast with Kaname. Kaname knew a bit of English, I knew a bit of Japanese, so conversation ran fine. I should really start studying Japanese seriously, though. Haha.
We ate at a very oriental Japanese restaurant and then after eating, we went for a bit of sightseeing around Harajuku. Of course, with Ashley around, many pictures were taken.
At noon, we came back to our hotel to prepare for the event. After about two hours, we were ready and we took our leave when the van arrived.
When we arrived in the venue, there were already lots of people. I couldn't help but feel excited. It was a like a dream come true for me, seeing everyone in costume.
Suddenly, there was a flash. I looked round to see Ashley holding up her camera.
"You're spazzing, Edj." She teased.
I pouted at her. "But this is so great! As expected from Japan!" I said, trying not to squeal.
Ashley laughed. This is us. Sometimes Ashley seems more like the older sister. She's taller than me, too, come to think of it.
"Well, where do we enter?" She asked me.
"Backdoor." I told our driver and said the direction Kaname told me.
Upon entering the 'backstage,' as you may call it, there was pure chaos.
Naoki, Cheryl, Aya, Usagi and all my other cosplayer friends took one look at us and started screaming excitedly and running to me. I started screaming as well, almost unconsciously. I missed them so much!
We were all --as Ashley put it-- spazzing (Ashley included) that we didn't notice when Kaname had entered.
"Girls." He called on to us, and we somehow tried to be more calm. It seems we weren't very succesful cause I can see Kaname and some of the other male cosplayers, trying not to laugh at us.
He had explained about the parade and the party after. It seems the party would be a bit like a convention. There would be a handshake/authograph signing event right after the parade but just for around half an hour. I didn't have to worry about that, though, I doubt anyone even heard of my name here in Japan, let alone a fan. After that, would be a sort of fashion show to showcase our costume. Not really a contest, just a recreational activity, I guess. And anyone is welcome to the stage. And then, after that is the party proper. After that, Kaname was swept away by other non-cosplayer people. It must be tough organizing such event.
My friends and I had some minutes to catch up with one another before the we were called to get ready for the parade. We're currently at Roppongi Hills Arena, where the parade will start. Then we will go through Roppongi Keyakizaka Street, then through Mohri Garden and then back to Roppongi Hills Arena where the party will be held. I didn't really know where these places are but since it's a parade, I'll just follow whoever's in front of me.
The parade started at exactly 3 o'clock. There were so many participants and their costumes were lovely. Lovely in a they're-so-creative! way. I know bloody zombies and monsters are far from 'lovely'.
As we walked, some participants had approached as and took pictures with us. There were also some viewers who did the same. Ashley was taking lots of pictures of the other participants and of the sights. Japan truly is beautiful.
Time flew by fast and we were already going back to the arena. I didn't even feel tired. It was just walking, but it was also very fun.
Once we were back in the backstage, Kaname had gathered us around. He will be instructing the cosplayers were their tables will be for the authograph signing. I knew I wasn't part of this, but since my friends were there, I just tagged along and listened.
I was surprised when Kaname turned to me.and said, "Alodia-san, if it's okay with you, you'll be sharing a table with Ashley-san. You'll be beside Naoki-san's."
I blinked. "We have a booth?" I said, stupidly.
He looked at me in surprise, "Yes. Of course." He said, as if that was obvious.
"But I don't think that's necessary. No one knows me here." I said politely.
"What are you talking about?" Cheryl asked, looking exasperated. "You're very popular among cosplay communities. You even had an autograph signing event in Singapore before."
"But that was for Animax." I tried to say.
"Exactly." Aya chimed in. "You're a celebrity."
Not really knowing what else to say, I just nodded and followed my friends when we were instructed to go to our posts. I still am convinced I am as popular as my White Queen's gown is dark.
So imagine my surprise when people started approaching our table. There was actually a line! People wanted our authograph and our pictures. Of course some mostly was just interested, maybe because of our costumes, maybe because other people were. But others actually know our name; actually was excited to meet us and talk to us. I was shocked, I was flalttered but most of all I was happy that my art didn't just reach people in the Philippines.
This was when I first saw them. It was also the first time they met.
The 30 minutes for the event was almost up, and the line in our table was still a bit long. I really wanted to meet so I'm glad that when it was only five more minutes, only three people were left. The first of three was apparently a big fan. He was gushing, talking in fast Japanese that my translator almost didn't catch it. He had filled in the last five minutes I think, because after him, only one more was allowed to approach me.
Only two left. The first one was a young tall boy looking normal, and a bit out of place with so many 'monsters' and anime characters around him. He was wearing casual clothes, but if you look closely, you would see that he had make up on. There were fake scars all around his arms and face and on his neck was a fake gash. It was as if an animal or a monster had skewered a fang through his neck.
The other one was a young girl, maybe around the boy's age or younger. She was very cute and she was wearing a Suzumiya Haruhi costume.
My heart broke when I saw the downcast face of the young lady. Suddenly the guy said something in Japanese. I had looked at our translator, asking her silently to translate.
According to her, the boy said. "You go. You're a fan, right? I was only curious." He said.
"Really?" The girl had replied, and she beamed at the boy.
"Yeah, sure." The boy said smiling back.
The girl stepped forward but before she could approach us further, she stopped and then turned to the guard.
"Is it okay if we have a picture with Alodia-san together?" She asked, holding the boy's arm.
The guard looked surprised, then looked at me. I nodded, smiling.
The two of them approach me and the girl asked for an autograph, looking very excited. I asked her name and she said it is Fukuda Kanon. I learned she had had cosplaying as a hobby since before. The boy's name is Morimoto Ryutaro. And he said according to the translator, he just liked anime, and it was the first time for him to come to an event like this.
The four of us posed for a picture with Kanon and Ryuu between Ashley and me.
I watched the two go, with Kanon chatting animatedly. I didn't know why they had an impact on me, but throughout the evening, I found myself unconsciously searching for them a lot of time.
After that we stayed for one more day and then we went back to the Philippines. I had found a copy of our picture in the internet, and I saved it, fondly.
The second time I met them, it was during another anime event.
It wasn't an invitation from Kaname this time, but it seems he was still the main reason because apparently, he had recommended me as a judge for the cosplay competition. It was an event in Akihabara, Tokyo. This time my family and I were planning on staying there longer.
We set off to Japan right after I came back from my taping in Korea. We arrived in Narita on the 9th of February. The start of the convention was on the 11th, so on the 10th, Ashley and I went to DisneySea! It was so much fun! And as per usual, we had tons of new photos thanks to Ashley's God-given talent that any paparazzi would die for to have. She even managed some good ones while we were on the roller coaster.
When we came back to our hotel, we only had a few more hours to prepare for the next days. As usual, we have different costumes for each of the three days of the convention. I brought many of my collections though, I couldn't just pick three.
We prepared our costumes for the next day and call it a night.
I got up the next day, very early. I guess I was excited. Well, this was an anime convention in Japan. And technically, it's my first. The last time was just a Halloween event. This time, it's really an anime convention.
Me and Ashley prepared for our cosplay and in about three hours, we were ready. Me as Miwako and Ashley as Yukari of ParaKiss.
We first ate a heavy breakfast in our hotel rooms and proceeded to Akihabara, with my mom and dad and our translator, of course. When we arrived, the event had already started. The cosplay competition wasn't til Day 2, so we weren't really required to go for today, but of course I couldn't let an opportunity to buy rare models and dolls pass.
Almost all people in the place were wearing cosplays or costrips. Me and my sister walked around looking at all the treasures around us and from time to time stopping when someone wants to take a picture, or when we see something we want to purchase.
Ashley had got herself a new game while I got my newest baby. I found this really beautiful elf doll who looks a bit like my TinierMe and of course, I bought her.
It wasn't until we were eating lunch that I saw them.
Together. Eating at a neighboring table.
I didn't know why, but I wanted to flail.
The guy, who I had forgetten the name by then, was wearing casual clothes while Kanon (her name is cute, so yeah), was wearing a costume of --if I'm not mistaken-- Rozen Maiden's Shinku (I'm basing this from her wig). It was a modified costume (so it was more of a costrip), rather than Shinku's red dress, she was wearing a white inner wear to show an illusion of her being a doll. She wore, I think, black rubber bands by her wrist her elbow, her knees, etc. to show joints of a doll. She was also wearing blue contact lens. It was simply brilliant.
After that I unconsciously followed them... well, okay, I purposely followed them. I don't know, they make me curious.
It seems they have been close friends after our first meeting. They were joking around and stuffs. They really look cute.
It was when we were by the stage that they noticed me. I pretended I wasn't looking at them. I saw, from my peripheral view, Kanon pointing at me excitedly. I couldn't help but smile.
I was by the backstage then, with Ashley and Eri-san, our translator. I saw Kanon taking the guy's hand and then pulling him towards me.
I smiled. Since Kanon was also wearing a cosplay, she was allowed to go backstage where cosplayers can leave their things. I guess now, she's the one helping the guy.
I turned to them with a smile as they moved towards me. They both smiled at me as well.
With our translator's help (I swear, I'll study Japanese!) we managed to communicate. They were asking me and Ashley if they could have a picture with us.
I told them it was okay. Kanon posed between me and Ashley first while the guy took a picture. We took two shots, and then the guy, who Kanon called 'Ryuu' (I won't forget it this time, promise) awkwardly stood between me and Ashley and we took a shot.
After that, I asked Eri-san so we could have a picture with the four of us. The two teens were very delighted with that. They thanked me vigourously.
But I wasn't through with them. I asked them if they wanted to seat with us for the battle of the bands, which was already starting.
They shared a smile then and nodded at me.
Ryuu had said something, and Eri-san translated that he said, his friends was a participant for the battle. He said 'look out for Hey!Say!Band.'
We enjoyed the show very much and I think Ashley took millions of pictures once more. We said goodbye with the two of them saying they will be coming back the next day as well.
When we return to our hotel room, I just rested for a while and then opened my laptop, intending to update my page and other accounts. It was already a routine. After that, I opened my TinierMe, though not really much in the mood to play.
I had randomly searched for pictures of the event, and I was surprised to see pictures of me and Ashley. I guess, there really are some people who knows us here.
I smiled as I browsed through the pictures. It was flattering, of course. To think that I've reached people even in Japan with my art.
I was very happy when I saw the picture of me with Ryuu and Kanon. So they had uploaded it. I clicked on the picture and it redirect me to a blogsite called 'Ameba.'
I was surprised to see many pictures of Kanon. It was her blogsite. There were many pictures of her cosplaying different animes. It was sort of like my deviantArt account.
Her site was very pink, it somehow suits her. She is very feminine. Her banner was a picture of Cardcaptor Sakura, so I guess that must be her favorite anime. She also have pictures of herself cosplaying as Sakura.
I browsed through her page and found something even more interesting! It was Ryuu, commenting on one of her entry. I think it was an entry about today's event. It seems they were talking through comments.
Well, of course they were talking in Japanese, but thanks to Google translate, I somehow got the gist of what they were saying.
'She's really great.
' was one of Kanon's comments.
And Ryuu replied with 'I know~
but Kanyon (I am pretty sure this is what he called her, it was written in Hiragana, and I know that at least), you were great too!' Isn't it cute?? He had a nickname for her!!!
'Arigatou
' Kanon replied
'Don't get too cocky. Alodia-san is still my number 1 idol~
" That was sweet of him, but I couldn't help but notice that implication. So 'Kanyon' is sort of an idol for Ryuu? Omg, flailing.
"I wasn'tsaying anything
" Kanon had replied.
And then in another comment she said, "Besides. I'm still Alodia-san's number 1 fan~
"
I couldn't help it. I pressed printscreen and saved the whole conversation.
I browsed through her other entries and from what I can tell, they started chatting November last year. So right after they first met. How cute!!
Smiling, I had prepared our costumes for the next day and still smiling, I slept, very excited for the morning.
We were much earlier in Akihabara for the next day, since it is the cosplay competition and I am one of the judges. For today, I wore my Neon Genesis Evangelion Rei costume with Ashley wearing a newly made Asuka costume. We ate our breakfast at the location, as well. We met with Kaname after that. He wasn't able to come yesterday because he had another event. He is a busy man, that Kaname. He would be judging with me today.
It was a pleasant surprise when I found out that both Kanon and Ryuu would be participating in the competition. It was an individual cosplay contest so they would be competing against each other. Around 10am, the place was filled with people, more than so the day before. I guess everyone wants to watch the competition.
At around 12.30, the judges were called since the competition would start at exactly 1pm. I still haven't seen any of the cosplayer then, the usual routine in a competition. The judges wouldn't meet the participants until the right time. We would only review their costumes through their application forms.
Many more people converged by the stage as the competition start. Firstly, the judges were introduced (as normal). And then without further ado, the first participant was introduced. Each participants would have about one minute on stage to show off their costume and role play.
The first participant was cosplaying as Kira Yamato of Gundam Seed.
All were excellent cosplays. I was particularly impressed by the one who cosplayed as Leon S. Kennedy of Resident Evil because he really does look like him. And the one who cosplayed as Shiki Senri of Vampire Knight. I was surprised when I found out she was a girl. She was so good, same blank expression, and I don't know what it was she used as a 'blood whip' but it looked legit. The cosplay I enjoyed very much though, was Ryuu's. Of course, I try to be as objective as I can as a judge, but what he did was really funny.
He was dressed as Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece and he just stood on the stage and showed how 'flexible' he is. For starters, he showed some good acrobatic skills. And then he started blowing on his hand, and I think he put a balloon there or something because his hand started inflating, just like Luffy's. He waved at the audience with his big hand and then he pulled on his face and it really stretched as far as he pulled. Looking at him closer, it seems there was really a skin-tone cloth covering half his face and said covered parts were painted red so it would look like his mouth. It was a good trick. Lastly, he threw his hands up and it soared through the stage. It was clever. The audience loved it. He was second for me, next to Shiki. I love Kanon's performance too, she dressed as Lilpuri's Nakatsuki Sasahara and for her one minute, she sang the anime's theme song. She sound mighty like Nakatsuki Sasahara, too. But there were other cosplay who can't be ignored as well.
The winners was announced in the evening. As expected, Shiki had won first place. Surprisingly, Ryuu had won too, third place after the Gundam cosplay. I saw Kanon congratulate Ryuu, though looked a bit sad. And omg, I saw Ryuu pinched his cheeks and she swat her hand away, though now looking a bit cheerful. How cute are they?! It's like I'm watching an anime or something.
Sadly, I wasn't able to talk to them this time. After the contest, Kaname had invited us for a snack in the one of the cafes and I didn't see them again.
When we returned to our hotel room, I wasted no time in getting to my laptop. I did my usual updates in Twitter, Facebook and DeviantArt and then I went to Kanon's blog.
As I expected, there were already the pictures from today's event. They had so many pictures together! They were so cute.
I jumped when I heard someone whispered behind me. Seriously, it gave me the creeps. It was Ashley, and I guess it was partly my fault for not paying attention to my surrounding.
What she said was, "Them again?" Before I had a coronary.
She laughed teasingly. "You were too focused on your laptop."
"Don't do that!" I told her, my heart still racing.
She just shrugged. "Not that it was on purpose." Then she pointed at my laptop once more. "That girl, Kanon, right? I saw a forum talking about her. I think she have some few fans." She said.
"Really? Which forum?" I asked, excitedly.
She grinned at me. "You... You're shipping this two, aren't you? You have the same reaction as with Cloud and Tifa."
"But they're so cute!" I told her. See what I told you about Ashley being more 'oneesan' than me?
She didn't comment on that and typed the website she found. The forum about Kanon.
"I think it started as just a page made by her friend for fun. But now I think there really are genuine fans there. I think her singing earlier added to that." She said as the we were directed to the site.
The first thing I saw, I squealed. I heard Ashley sighed in exasperation and amusement, but I ignored her.
Ryuu was also here! He was using his own photo so I could tell.
I think he tagged Kanon in the site. Again, with Mr. Google's help, me and Ashley were able to understand their conversation.
"Hey, nice. You already have your own fans.
" Ryuu had said.
Kanon's only reply was "
"
"Why are you blushing
lol. You're going tomorrow, too, right
" Ryuu next said.
"Hai! it's rare for Alodia-san to come here in Japan. I won't miss it.
" Was what Kanon said.
"So you're going with Aerith, yeah
" Ryuu said.
"Un, how about Ryuu
" Kanon answered.
"It's a s-e-c-r-e-t.
" Ryuu said.
"No fair!
" So cute, Kanon is.
But... I don't know, but if I believe my fantasy, I think I know what Ryuu would be wearing tomorrow. A brilliant idea occured to me and I went to Yahoo!Mail to mail a dear friend of mine.
"Okay, what are you planning?" Ashley asked, sounding a bit alarmed.
"Ash! Can you wear that new costume?" I asked her, eagerly.
The next morning, again we ate breakfast in our hotel and then took off for Akihabara. Today was the awarding ceremony and me and Kaname would be the one to give the awards.
We met Kaname when we arrived and this time. I smiled when I saw what he was wearing and thanked him for doing me a favor. We actually match today.
We wander around the place together. He hadn't had the chance yet since he wasn't able to come on Day 1 and we were both busy yesterday. I showed him where the FF Merchandise were. He is very fond of them. I think he bought two new models to add to his collections.
I had noticed then... Kanon. There were a few people around her, asking for a picture. She really is becoming famous. Well, her Aerith costume really suits her. She's like a doll. I couldn't see Ryuu anywhere though.
"What is it?" Kaname suddenly said in his accented Engrish.
"Don't mind my sister." Ashley said. "She's pairing that girl with another cosplayer."
"I can't see Ryuu, though." I said, a bit distracted.
"Is that him?" Kaname suddenly asked, pointing with his gloved hand. Surely, I saw a Zack Fair approaching our Aerith. I was right!!! I grinned excitedly and took hold of both Ashley and Kaname's hands.
I saw Kanon beamed in surprise when she too, had seen Ryuu. Ryuu had grinned at her and walked a bit faster towards her. They chatted, all the while smiling. I seriously was having a very hard time trying not to spazz.
"Let's take a picture with them!" I asked Kaname and Ashley, dragging them forward. I was wearing my Tifa costume, Ashley was wearing her Yuffie costume and Kaname, his Cloud costume. The five of us were cosplaying FF7.
I saw Ashley shaking her head at me, but smiling all the same. Kaname was just plain bewildered.
"Kanon-chan, Ryuu!" I called them and they both turned to look at me.
They both wore disbelieving expressions as the three of us approach.
"Alodia-san! Kaname-san! Ashley-san!" Kanon squealed, her face brightening. Seriously, can I adopt her? Joking, joking. But she's too cute!
"Hey! We've the same cotume. Let's take a picture together, ne?" I told them and automatically, Kaname translated for them. Thank you, Kaname.
As we posed for a picture, more people gathered around us and started taking pictures as well. I couldn't help but notice how the two interact with each other. Ryuu, he was really very gentle with Kanon, always smiling, and it's as if he touches her often. I don't know about you guys but I really think there is something there.
Throughout the flashes, Kaname had managed to tell me in a whisper, "You like matchmaking, don't you?"
I grinned at him. "Hai, I do."
After that, all five of us went to our seats for the awarding. Since they were participants in the cosplay competition, they also had VIP seats. The awarding was over quickly; first the awarding for the battle of the bands then for the cosplay competition, with the usual hugs from me and Kaname.
And in no time it was already SCANDAL's performance. I have met them before, of course. During AFA some years ago. Now though, they looked and performed even more great. They are one of the bands I really admire. I really wish I got half the music talent of my parents. It seems though that Ashley got all the genes.
At the start of SCANDAL's second song, a sudden inspiration came to me and I tugged on Ashley while our other company were watching.
She looked at me in question.
"Can you do me a favor?" I asked her.
She raised an eyebrow.
"Can you take Kanon out for a while? Just make up anything. And then stall..." I told her in Filipino.
"Edg, I'm watching..." She said in Filipino as well, but I knew it would only take just a little more convincing.
"Please? I'll make it up to you." I said in Filipino.
She sighed and then said, "You owe me big. Pretend not to hear me, kay?"
Ashley had then did something with Yuffie's armor and subtly went closer to Kanon. When the next song started, she began jumping up and down to the song's rhythm.
I watched as some of her armor becoming loose. Kanon had noticed this and had pointed it out to Ashley. Ashley, looking genuinely surprised and panicked, had grab onto them clumsily and excused herself. Kanon, looking worried, had followed her.
And all I can think was, my sister is a genius, hands down.
I grinned at her brilliance and proceeded for phase two. I tapped Kaname on his shoulder and then gestured to Ryuu. I had already ask him earlier if he could do me this one favor and he had agreed, albeit hesitantly.
He just nodded but didn't do anything, and continued watching the performance.
I was about to ask him again but as the song changed to a more mellow one, Ryuu's head had snapped, now only noticing that Kanon was not there anymore.
That was when Kaname spoke. I am fairly sure he told him where Kanon was. I heard him say Kanon's name.
Ryuu just nodded, but still looked back as if expecting to see Kanon back.
Kaname spoke again and I am not sure but I think he might have implied Kanon being Ryuu's girlfriend or something cause I heard the word 'kanojo.'
Ryuu had then blushed and shook his head vigorously.
Kaname looked surprised and said something once more. I didn't understand.
When Ryuu replied, the only word I could understand was 'Ie' (No) and Kanon's name.
After that the two of them went quiet. I don't really think Ryuu was aware I was close to them. Or maybe he didn't mind much since I couldn't really understand Japanese.
Kaname spoke again. This time I understood, from the shoujo anime I've watched. "Kanojo ga suki desu ka?" (Do you like her?)
If possible, Ryuu had grew redder.
He didn't respond for a while, but then slowly, he nodded.
And then Kaname spoke once more. I heard the word 'kokuhaku' so I guess they're talking about Ryuu confessing?
Once more, Ryuu shook his head and then said something. I heard a 'valentines' and an 'ashita' (tomorrow) and I was so thrilled I was happy I was watching a concert and I had a reason to spazz. So he is planning to confess tomorrow in valentines??? That's so sweet!
Ryuu said something once more but I couldn't understand it. Kaname didn't say anything anymore. After a short while, Ashley and Kanon had came back, too.
Too soon, and unexpectedly, after SCANDAL's next song, Ryuu and Kanon had told us (Kaname, actually and then he passed the message to us) that they had to go home since it was getting late. It was already 8.30pm. Kanon had hugged and thanked all three of us before going. Ryuu just gave us a bow, smiling gratefully. I really didn't wanna say goodbye yet, but what could I do?
And that was the last time I saw them.
Just kidding. LOLs.
When they were gone, Ashley had told me what happened with them. Well, since she knew Japanese as much as I do. She could only guess, but from what they gestured at each other, she said she thinks Kanon likes Ryuu.
Kaname too, told me what they conversed about. I guessed right, mostly, but Ryuu's last words was something I didn't really think about.
"He said he wants to tell her tomorrow, but he didn't know how." Kaname said, looking concern as I feel. Looks like I made him and Ash as obsessed over them as me. Well, maybe a just a little bit.
This had left me pondering. It was already the last day of the convention so how can I see them again, really?
And then I remembered I was a judge, and their I have a copy of their application form. I have their contacts... but what will I do with that?
It was when we met with SCANDAL that an idea popped into my head. It was because of Rina's keychain. It was Li Shaoran of Cardcaptor Sakura.
And it was such a great idea I lost no time to say it to Kaname and Ashley. It was a bit embarrasing, since SCANDAL members were there and they looked surprised at my outburst and everything. They asked what was up and I think Kaname told them everything but what I didn't expect was that they offer to help me with my plan. This will be brilliant.
The first phase was to ask Kaname for more translation.
When we came back to the hotel, I had looked up Ryuu's and Kanon's application forms and sent them the letter I asked Kaname to translate.
I first mailed Ryuu and very fortunately he replied at once, asking me what was my plan.
I told him every detail of my idea, though I emphasized that it is still just a suggestion.
Oh yeah, and credits to Mr. Kaname for the quick translations (I'm sorry, Mr. Google, Kaname is much efficient.)
I waited for his next reply. It took a bit of time, but he did soon, and it was a go signal.
So I next mailed Kanon.
'Hey there, we want to invite you tomorrow for the convention's wrap-up party. Same place. It will be a cosplay event. :)' Was the gist of what I sent to Kanon.
After that I commented on Kanon's picture of herself as Cardcaptor Sakura. I added some flailing, just to make sure. And for the other things, I have friends helping me.
And that night, I prepared for one last event before going back to the Philippines.
The next morning, I woke up early feeling very excited indeed. I put on casual clothes as did Ashley. For today, we are the ones behind the camera.
We met with Ryuu during breakfast. He was looking very nervous. I asked him again if he really wanted to do it. He gave me a determined face and nodded.
So we started with our preparations. Kaname had brought Ryuu's costume for today.

Kanon had arrived fifteen minutes before the time I told her. Ryuu (just with his normal clothes) and I had welcomed her. I only had time to compliment her Sakura costume and then Kaname had called me and I excused myself, leaving the two of them alone.
We watched as they talked. Ryuu seems to be nervous but he was still able to tease Kanon. I think they were talking about Kanon being dressed in costume while me and Ryuu just wearing casual clothes.
That was when SCANDAL had started playing their song.
Kanon had looked up to the music and turned back to Ryuu. I imagined she told her she wanted to watch. Ryuu had nodded and the two of them walked towards the music.
A while later, Ryuu had came back and Kaname took him to his costume.
Part 1 was completed and we were entering part 2.
A while later, I went to where Kanon was and she had immediately said, "Ryuu?" which quite clearly say she was asking if I knew where he was. It was part of the plan that Ryuu don't tell her he was going, as if he just disappeared.
I told her 'gomen' and then shrugged. She just nodded looking a bit worried.
"Matte," I then said. And pointed by the stairs. "I think Ryuu is there." I told her in English.
She looked at where I pointed and then turned to me. She said something in Japanese and I think she meant she'll be back. I just nodded as she hurried to the stairs.
That was our que for part 3.

It was a bit mean but... well, I really think she'd appreciate it. We watch from our hiding places as Kanon looked around at the seemingly empty building.
She was looking really worried now. Freak out, more like. But it'll end soon. I'm really sorry, Kanon.
And finally she got to the stage where SCANDAL was supposed to be performing, and of course the bunch of people watching earlier has gone too.
I thought she didn't notice, but thank God she did.
At last our climax.
Ryuu on the stage, donned in his Li Shaoran outfit.
Kanon looked at him, relieved, surprised, bewildered all expressed in her face.
"Ryuu?" I saw Kanon mouth as she approach her.
I saw Ryuu blushing beet red but he had started talking, though stuttering a bit.
"Sakura..." He called. Kanon's eyes widen. I think she just realized Ryuu was dressed as Shaoran. "E-Even..." Ryuu stopped and then inhaled.
He cleared his throat and started again. "E-even if I lose this feeling... I'm sure that I'll just fall in---Ugh," He suddenly groaned and then he said (as Kaname told me after the whole ordeal). "Sorry, Kanon, I can't do this. I'm not good with this. I just... I love you, okay?" He said, sounding annoyed.
I saw Kanon beamed then and though I knew Ryuu didn't say the right line. It was a sort of deja vu when I saw Kanon jumped to Ryuu and called 'Daisuki!"
And all of us came out from our hiding places and shouted "Omedetou!"
So overall, it was a success. They started going out, and even now I chat with them from time to time. And well, I think it is safe to say that I am their number 1 fan. By the way, Ashley got the whole Day 4 event in video cam. I watch it whenever I feel like watching a chic flick. lol. Should I post the video? Nah, I had promised them I won't. But they never mentioned anything about sharing their story. So in the end it wasn't ZaRith (Zack x Aerith) or SyaoKura (Syaoran x Sakura). In the end, it was just plain RyuuNon.

This is not a fanfiction.
By definition, a fanfiction is a story made by a fan basing on an already published work. I certainly didn't based this in an original work. And I'm certainly not a fan. Uhm, well, before I wasn't a fan but they grew on me. Okayy... so maybe it is a fanfiction now, but it didn't start as one.
Anyway, hi! Alodia here! And this story is not about me, but about my fans. Interesting, ne?
It all started when I first went to Japan for work.
It was mid-September when Kaname mailed me. He invited me for a cosplay event on Japan on Halloween. He said it was an annual event in Tokyo.
I was sure I would be busy on Halloween, but I just couldn't pass it up. I live for art. And cosplay is my favorite form. And it was Japan. All I love came from Japan. Plus, Kaname had said our other friends was invited as well and I really miss them. It would be a reunion for us.
I replied without second thoughts, saying we'd (of course I'm taking Ashley with me) be glad to come.
Both me and Ashley prepared our costume. We decided to just use old costumes instead of making a new one since it wasn't really a formal gathering. We weren't there for work. It was more like ust a simple halloween party. I was all for using our Witchblade costumes, cause it's Japan and surely their costumes would be on a high level. But Ashley complained that it was hard to move about wearing those. She was all for using or Death Note costumes, but it was too simple for my liking. In the end we settled for our Alice In Wonderland costume. Ashley would be going as Alice and me as the White Queen.
Days flew by fast with all my filming and photoshoots (and of course in between those, online games! XD). Suddenly, it was the day before the event. Feeling very much excited, I and my family went aboard the plane. The journey only last about an hour but it was already night so we went straight to our hotel and checked in. After that we had dinner and we just stayed in our hotel room preparing for the next day's event.
Morning the next day, my family and I went and ate breakfast with Kaname. Kaname knew a bit of English, I knew a bit of Japanese, so conversation ran fine. I should really start studying Japanese seriously, though. Haha.
We ate at a very oriental Japanese restaurant and then after eating, we went for a bit of sightseeing around Harajuku. Of course, with Ashley around, many pictures were taken.
At noon, we came back to our hotel to prepare for the event. After about two hours, we were ready and we took our leave when the van arrived.
When we arrived in the venue, there were already lots of people. I couldn't help but feel excited. It was a like a dream come true for me, seeing everyone in costume.
Suddenly, there was a flash. I looked round to see Ashley holding up her camera.
"You're spazzing, Edj." She teased.
I pouted at her. "But this is so great! As expected from Japan!" I said, trying not to squeal.
Ashley laughed. This is us. Sometimes Ashley seems more like the older sister. She's taller than me, too, come to think of it.
"Well, where do we enter?" She asked me.
"Backdoor." I told our driver and said the direction Kaname told me.
Upon entering the 'backstage,' as you may call it, there was pure chaos.
Naoki, Cheryl, Aya, Usagi and all my other cosplayer friends took one look at us and started screaming excitedly and running to me. I started screaming as well, almost unconsciously. I missed them so much!
We were all --as Ashley put it-- spazzing (Ashley included) that we didn't notice when Kaname had entered.
"Girls." He called on to us, and we somehow tried to be more calm. It seems we weren't very succesful cause I can see Kaname and some of the other male cosplayers, trying not to laugh at us.
He had explained about the parade and the party after. It seems the party would be a bit like a convention. There would be a handshake/authograph signing event right after the parade but just for around half an hour. I didn't have to worry about that, though, I doubt anyone even heard of my name here in Japan, let alone a fan. After that, would be a sort of fashion show to showcase our costume. Not really a contest, just a recreational activity, I guess. And anyone is welcome to the stage. And then, after that is the party proper. After that, Kaname was swept away by other non-cosplayer people. It must be tough organizing such event.
My friends and I had some minutes to catch up with one another before the we were called to get ready for the parade. We're currently at Roppongi Hills Arena, where the parade will start. Then we will go through Roppongi Keyakizaka Street, then through Mohri Garden and then back to Roppongi Hills Arena where the party will be held. I didn't really know where these places are but since it's a parade, I'll just follow whoever's in front of me.
The parade started at exactly 3 o'clock. There were so many participants and their costumes were lovely. Lovely in a they're-so-creative! way. I know bloody zombies and monsters are far from 'lovely'.
As we walked, some participants had approached as and took pictures with us. There were also some viewers who did the same. Ashley was taking lots of pictures of the other participants and of the sights. Japan truly is beautiful.
Time flew by fast and we were already going back to the arena. I didn't even feel tired. It was just walking, but it was also very fun.
Once we were back in the backstage, Kaname had gathered us around. He will be instructing the cosplayers were their tables will be for the authograph signing. I knew I wasn't part of this, but since my friends were there, I just tagged along and listened.
I was surprised when Kaname turned to me.and said, "Alodia-san, if it's okay with you, you'll be sharing a table with Ashley-san. You'll be beside Naoki-san's."
I blinked. "We have a booth?" I said, stupidly.
He looked at me in surprise, "Yes. Of course." He said, as if that was obvious.
"But I don't think that's necessary. No one knows me here." I said politely.
"What are you talking about?" Cheryl asked, looking exasperated. "You're very popular among cosplay communities. You even had an autograph signing event in Singapore before."
"But that was for Animax." I tried to say.
"Exactly." Aya chimed in. "You're a celebrity."
Not really knowing what else to say, I just nodded and followed my friends when we were instructed to go to our posts. I still am convinced I am as popular as my White Queen's gown is dark.
So imagine my surprise when people started approaching our table. There was actually a line! People wanted our authograph and our pictures. Of course some mostly was just interested, maybe because of our costumes, maybe because other people were. But others actually know our name; actually was excited to meet us and talk to us. I was shocked, I was flalttered but most of all I was happy that my art didn't just reach people in the Philippines.
This was when I first saw them. It was also the first time they met.
The 30 minutes for the event was almost up, and the line in our table was still a bit long. I really wanted to meet so I'm glad that when it was only five more minutes, only three people were left. The first of three was apparently a big fan. He was gushing, talking in fast Japanese that my translator almost didn't catch it. He had filled in the last five minutes I think, because after him, only one more was allowed to approach me.
Only two left. The first one was a young tall boy looking normal, and a bit out of place with so many 'monsters' and anime characters around him. He was wearing casual clothes, but if you look closely, you would see that he had make up on. There were fake scars all around his arms and face and on his neck was a fake gash. It was as if an animal or a monster had skewered a fang through his neck.
The other one was a young girl, maybe around the boy's age or younger. She was very cute and she was wearing a Suzumiya Haruhi costume.
My heart broke when I saw the downcast face of the young lady. Suddenly the guy said something in Japanese. I had looked at our translator, asking her silently to translate.
According to her, the boy said. "You go. You're a fan, right? I was only curious." He said.
"Really?" The girl had replied, and she beamed at the boy.
"Yeah, sure." The boy said smiling back.
The girl stepped forward but before she could approach us further, she stopped and then turned to the guard.
"Is it okay if we have a picture with Alodia-san together?" She asked, holding the boy's arm.
The guard looked surprised, then looked at me. I nodded, smiling.
The two of them approach me and the girl asked for an autograph, looking very excited. I asked her name and she said it is Fukuda Kanon. I learned she had had cosplaying as a hobby since before. The boy's name is Morimoto Ryutaro. And he said according to the translator, he just liked anime, and it was the first time for him to come to an event like this.
The four of us posed for a picture with Kanon and Ryuu between Ashley and me.
I watched the two go, with Kanon chatting animatedly. I didn't know why they had an impact on me, but throughout the evening, I found myself unconsciously searching for them a lot of time.
After that we stayed for one more day and then we went back to the Philippines. I had found a copy of our picture in the internet, and I saved it, fondly.
The second time I met them, it was during another anime event.
It wasn't an invitation from Kaname this time, but it seems he was still the main reason because apparently, he had recommended me as a judge for the cosplay competition. It was an event in Akihabara, Tokyo. This time my family and I were planning on staying there longer.
We set off to Japan right after I came back from my taping in Korea. We arrived in Narita on the 9th of February. The start of the convention was on the 11th, so on the 10th, Ashley and I went to DisneySea! It was so much fun! And as per usual, we had tons of new photos thanks to Ashley's God-given talent that any paparazzi would die for to have. She even managed some good ones while we were on the roller coaster.
When we came back to our hotel, we only had a few more hours to prepare for the next days. As usual, we have different costumes for each of the three days of the convention. I brought many of my collections though, I couldn't just pick three.
We prepared our costumes for the next day and call it a night.
I got up the next day, very early. I guess I was excited. Well, this was an anime convention in Japan. And technically, it's my first. The last time was just a Halloween event. This time, it's really an anime convention.
Me and Ashley prepared for our cosplay and in about three hours, we were ready. Me as Miwako and Ashley as Yukari of ParaKiss.
We first ate a heavy breakfast in our hotel rooms and proceeded to Akihabara, with my mom and dad and our translator, of course. When we arrived, the event had already started. The cosplay competition wasn't til Day 2, so we weren't really required to go for today, but of course I couldn't let an opportunity to buy rare models and dolls pass.
Almost all people in the place were wearing cosplays or costrips. Me and my sister walked around looking at all the treasures around us and from time to time stopping when someone wants to take a picture, or when we see something we want to purchase.
Ashley had got herself a new game while I got my newest baby. I found this really beautiful elf doll who looks a bit like my TinierMe and of course, I bought her.
It wasn't until we were eating lunch that I saw them.
Together. Eating at a neighboring table.
I didn't know why, but I wanted to flail.
The guy, who I had forgetten the name by then, was wearing casual clothes while Kanon (her name is cute, so yeah), was wearing a costume of --if I'm not mistaken-- Rozen Maiden's Shinku (I'm basing this from her wig). It was a modified costume (so it was more of a costrip), rather than Shinku's red dress, she was wearing a white inner wear to show an illusion of her being a doll. She wore, I think, black rubber bands by her wrist her elbow, her knees, etc. to show joints of a doll. She was also wearing blue contact lens. It was simply brilliant.
After that I unconsciously followed them... well, okay, I purposely followed them. I don't know, they make me curious.
It seems they have been close friends after our first meeting. They were joking around and stuffs. They really look cute.
It was when we were by the stage that they noticed me. I pretended I wasn't looking at them. I saw, from my peripheral view, Kanon pointing at me excitedly. I couldn't help but smile.
I was by the backstage then, with Ashley and Eri-san, our translator. I saw Kanon taking the guy's hand and then pulling him towards me.
I smiled. Since Kanon was also wearing a cosplay, she was allowed to go backstage where cosplayers can leave their things. I guess now, she's the one helping the guy.
I turned to them with a smile as they moved towards me. They both smiled at me as well.
With our translator's help (I swear, I'll study Japanese!) we managed to communicate. They were asking me and Ashley if they could have a picture with us.
I told them it was okay. Kanon posed between me and Ashley first while the guy took a picture. We took two shots, and then the guy, who Kanon called 'Ryuu' (I won't forget it this time, promise) awkwardly stood between me and Ashley and we took a shot.
After that, I asked Eri-san so we could have a picture with the four of us. The two teens were very delighted with that. They thanked me vigourously.
But I wasn't through with them. I asked them if they wanted to seat with us for the battle of the bands, which was already starting.
They shared a smile then and nodded at me.
Ryuu had said something, and Eri-san translated that he said, his friends was a participant for the battle. He said 'look out for Hey!Say!Band.'
We enjoyed the show very much and I think Ashley took millions of pictures once more. We said goodbye with the two of them saying they will be coming back the next day as well.
When we return to our hotel room, I just rested for a while and then opened my laptop, intending to update my page and other accounts. It was already a routine. After that, I opened my TinierMe, though not really much in the mood to play.
I had randomly searched for pictures of the event, and I was surprised to see pictures of me and Ashley. I guess, there really are some people who knows us here.
I smiled as I browsed through the pictures. It was flattering, of course. To think that I've reached people even in Japan with my art.
I was very happy when I saw the picture of me with Ryuu and Kanon. So they had uploaded it. I clicked on the picture and it redirect me to a blogsite called 'Ameba.'
I was surprised to see many pictures of Kanon. It was her blogsite. There were many pictures of her cosplaying different animes. It was sort of like my deviantArt account.
Her site was very pink, it somehow suits her. She is very feminine. Her banner was a picture of Cardcaptor Sakura, so I guess that must be her favorite anime. She also have pictures of herself cosplaying as Sakura.
I browsed through her page and found something even more interesting! It was Ryuu, commenting on one of her entry. I think it was an entry about today's event. It seems they were talking through comments.
Well, of course they were talking in Japanese, but thanks to Google translate, I somehow got the gist of what they were saying.
'She's really great.
' was one of Kanon's comments.
And Ryuu replied with 'I know~
but Kanyon (I am pretty sure this is what he called her, it was written in Hiragana, and I know that at least), you were great too!' Isn't it cute?? He had a nickname for her!!!
'Arigatou
' Kanon replied
'Don't get too cocky. Alodia-san is still my number 1 idol~
" That was sweet of him, but I couldn't help but notice that implication. So 'Kanyon' is sort of an idol for Ryuu? Omg, flailing.
"I wasn'tsaying anything
" Kanon had replied.
And then in another comment she said, "Besides. I'm still Alodia-san's number 1 fan~
"
I couldn't help it. I pressed printscreen and saved the whole conversation.
I browsed through her other entries and from what I can tell, they started chatting November last year. So right after they first met. How cute!!
Smiling, I had prepared our costumes for the next day and still smiling, I slept, very excited for the morning.
We were much earlier in Akihabara for the next day, since it is the cosplay competition and I am one of the judges. For today, I wore my Neon Genesis Evangelion Rei costume with Ashley wearing a newly made Asuka costume. We ate our breakfast at the location, as well. We met with Kaname after that. He wasn't able to come yesterday because he had another event. He is a busy man, that Kaname. He would be judging with me today.
It was a pleasant surprise when I found out that both Kanon and Ryuu would be participating in the competition. It was an individual cosplay contest so they would be competing against each other. Around 10am, the place was filled with people, more than so the day before. I guess everyone wants to watch the competition.
At around 12.30, the judges were called since the competition would start at exactly 1pm. I still haven't seen any of the cosplayer then, the usual routine in a competition. The judges wouldn't meet the participants until the right time. We would only review their costumes through their application forms.
Many more people converged by the stage as the competition start. Firstly, the judges were introduced (as normal). And then without further ado, the first participant was introduced. Each participants would have about one minute on stage to show off their costume and role play.
The first participant was cosplaying as Kira Yamato of Gundam Seed.
All were excellent cosplays. I was particularly impressed by the one who cosplayed as Leon S. Kennedy of Resident Evil because he really does look like him. And the one who cosplayed as Shiki Senri of Vampire Knight. I was surprised when I found out she was a girl. She was so good, same blank expression, and I don't know what it was she used as a 'blood whip' but it looked legit. The cosplay I enjoyed very much though, was Ryuu's. Of course, I try to be as objective as I can as a judge, but what he did was really funny.
He was dressed as Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece and he just stood on the stage and showed how 'flexible' he is. For starters, he showed some good acrobatic skills. And then he started blowing on his hand, and I think he put a balloon there or something because his hand started inflating, just like Luffy's. He waved at the audience with his big hand and then he pulled on his face and it really stretched as far as he pulled. Looking at him closer, it seems there was really a skin-tone cloth covering half his face and said covered parts were painted red so it would look like his mouth. It was a good trick. Lastly, he threw his hands up and it soared through the stage. It was clever. The audience loved it. He was second for me, next to Shiki. I love Kanon's performance too, she dressed as Lilpuri's Nakatsuki Sasahara and for her one minute, she sang the anime's theme song. She sound mighty like Nakatsuki Sasahara, too. But there were other cosplay who can't be ignored as well.
The winners was announced in the evening. As expected, Shiki had won first place. Surprisingly, Ryuu had won too, third place after the Gundam cosplay. I saw Kanon congratulate Ryuu, though looked a bit sad. And omg, I saw Ryuu pinched his cheeks and she swat her hand away, though now looking a bit cheerful. How cute are they?! It's like I'm watching an anime or something.
Sadly, I wasn't able to talk to them this time. After the contest, Kaname had invited us for a snack in the one of the cafes and I didn't see them again.
When we returned to our hotel room, I wasted no time in getting to my laptop. I did my usual updates in Twitter, Facebook and DeviantArt and then I went to Kanon's blog.
As I expected, there were already the pictures from today's event. They had so many pictures together! They were so cute.
I jumped when I heard someone whispered behind me. Seriously, it gave me the creeps. It was Ashley, and I guess it was partly my fault for not paying attention to my surrounding.
What she said was, "Them again?" Before I had a coronary.
She laughed teasingly. "You were too focused on your laptop."
"Don't do that!" I told her, my heart still racing.
She just shrugged. "Not that it was on purpose." Then she pointed at my laptop once more. "That girl, Kanon, right? I saw a forum talking about her. I think she have some few fans." She said.
"Really? Which forum?" I asked, excitedly.
She grinned at me. "You... You're shipping this two, aren't you? You have the same reaction as with Cloud and Tifa."
"But they're so cute!" I told her. See what I told you about Ashley being more 'oneesan' than me?
She didn't comment on that and typed the website she found. The forum about Kanon.
"I think it started as just a page made by her friend for fun. But now I think there really are genuine fans there. I think her singing earlier added to that." She said as the we were directed to the site.
The first thing I saw, I squealed. I heard Ashley sighed in exasperation and amusement, but I ignored her.
Ryuu was also here! He was using his own photo so I could tell.
I think he tagged Kanon in the site. Again, with Mr. Google's help, me and Ashley were able to understand their conversation.
"Hey, nice. You already have your own fans.
" Ryuu had said.
Kanon's only reply was "
"
"Why are you blushing
lol. You're going tomorrow, too, right
" Ryuu next said.
"Hai! it's rare for Alodia-san to come here in Japan. I won't miss it.
" Was what Kanon said.
"So you're going with Aerith, yeah
" Ryuu said.
"Un, how about Ryuu
" Kanon answered.
"It's a s-e-c-r-e-t.
" Ryuu said.
"No fair!
" So cute, Kanon is.
But... I don't know, but if I believe my fantasy, I think I know what Ryuu would be wearing tomorrow. A brilliant idea occured to me and I went to Yahoo!Mail to mail a dear friend of mine.
"Okay, what are you planning?" Ashley asked, sounding a bit alarmed.
"Ash! Can you wear that new costume?" I asked her, eagerly.
The next morning, again we ate breakfast in our hotel and then took off for Akihabara. Today was the awarding ceremony and me and Kaname would be the one to give the awards.
We met Kaname when we arrived and this time. I smiled when I saw what he was wearing and thanked him for doing me a favor. We actually match today.
We wander around the place together. He hadn't had the chance yet since he wasn't able to come on Day 1 and we were both busy yesterday. I showed him where the FF Merchandise were. He is very fond of them. I think he bought two new models to add to his collections.
I had noticed then... Kanon. There were a few people around her, asking for a picture. She really is becoming famous. Well, her Aerith costume really suits her. She's like a doll. I couldn't see Ryuu anywhere though.
"What is it?" Kaname suddenly said in his accented Engrish.
"Don't mind my sister." Ashley said. "She's pairing that girl with another cosplayer."
"I can't see Ryuu, though." I said, a bit distracted.
"Is that him?" Kaname suddenly asked, pointing with his gloved hand. Surely, I saw a Zack Fair approaching our Aerith. I was right!!! I grinned excitedly and took hold of both Ashley and Kaname's hands.
I saw Kanon beamed in surprise when she too, had seen Ryuu. Ryuu had grinned at her and walked a bit faster towards her. They chatted, all the while smiling. I seriously was having a very hard time trying not to spazz.
"Let's take a picture with them!" I asked Kaname and Ashley, dragging them forward. I was wearing my Tifa costume, Ashley was wearing her Yuffie costume and Kaname, his Cloud costume. The five of us were cosplaying FF7.
I saw Ashley shaking her head at me, but smiling all the same. Kaname was just plain bewildered.
"Kanon-chan, Ryuu!" I called them and they both turned to look at me.
They both wore disbelieving expressions as the three of us approach.
"Alodia-san! Kaname-san! Ashley-san!" Kanon squealed, her face brightening. Seriously, can I adopt her? Joking, joking. But she's too cute!
"Hey! We've the same cotume. Let's take a picture together, ne?" I told them and automatically, Kaname translated for them. Thank you, Kaname.
As we posed for a picture, more people gathered around us and started taking pictures as well. I couldn't help but notice how the two interact with each other. Ryuu, he was really very gentle with Kanon, always smiling, and it's as if he touches her often. I don't know about you guys but I really think there is something there.
Throughout the flashes, Kaname had managed to tell me in a whisper, "You like matchmaking, don't you?"
I grinned at him. "Hai, I do."
After that, all five of us went to our seats for the awarding. Since they were participants in the cosplay competition, they also had VIP seats. The awarding was over quickly; first the awarding for the battle of the bands then for the cosplay competition, with the usual hugs from me and Kaname.
And in no time it was already SCANDAL's performance. I have met them before, of course. During AFA some years ago. Now though, they looked and performed even more great. They are one of the bands I really admire. I really wish I got half the music talent of my parents. It seems though that Ashley got all the genes.
At the start of SCANDAL's second song, a sudden inspiration came to me and I tugged on Ashley while our other company were watching.
She looked at me in question.
"Can you do me a favor?" I asked her.
She raised an eyebrow.
"Can you take Kanon out for a while? Just make up anything. And then stall..." I told her in Filipino.
"Edg, I'm watching..." She said in Filipino as well, but I knew it would only take just a little more convincing.
"Please? I'll make it up to you." I said in Filipino.
She sighed and then said, "You owe me big. Pretend not to hear me, kay?"
Ashley had then did something with Yuffie's armor and subtly went closer to Kanon. When the next song started, she began jumping up and down to the song's rhythm.
I watched as some of her armor becoming loose. Kanon had noticed this and had pointed it out to Ashley. Ashley, looking genuinely surprised and panicked, had grab onto them clumsily and excused herself. Kanon, looking worried, had followed her.
And all I can think was, my sister is a genius, hands down.
I grinned at her brilliance and proceeded for phase two. I tapped Kaname on his shoulder and then gestured to Ryuu. I had already ask him earlier if he could do me this one favor and he had agreed, albeit hesitantly.
He just nodded but didn't do anything, and continued watching the performance.
I was about to ask him again but as the song changed to a more mellow one, Ryuu's head had snapped, now only noticing that Kanon was not there anymore.
That was when Kaname spoke. I am fairly sure he told him where Kanon was. I heard him say Kanon's name.
Ryuu just nodded, but still looked back as if expecting to see Kanon back.
Kaname spoke again and I am not sure but I think he might have implied Kanon being Ryuu's girlfriend or something cause I heard the word 'kanojo.'
Ryuu had then blushed and shook his head vigorously.
Kaname looked surprised and said something once more. I didn't understand.
When Ryuu replied, the only word I could understand was 'Ie' (No) and Kanon's name.
After that the two of them went quiet. I don't really think Ryuu was aware I was close to them. Or maybe he didn't mind much since I couldn't really understand Japanese.
Kaname spoke again. This time I understood, from the shoujo anime I've watched. "Kanojo ga suki desu ka?" (Do you like her?)
If possible, Ryuu had grew redder.
He didn't respond for a while, but then slowly, he nodded.
And then Kaname spoke once more. I heard the word 'kokuhaku' so I guess they're talking about Ryuu confessing?
Once more, Ryuu shook his head and then said something. I heard a 'valentines' and an 'ashita' (tomorrow) and I was so thrilled I was happy I was watching a concert and I had a reason to spazz. So he is planning to confess tomorrow in valentines??? That's so sweet!
Ryuu said something once more but I couldn't understand it. Kaname didn't say anything anymore. After a short while, Ashley and Kanon had came back, too.
Too soon, and unexpectedly, after SCANDAL's next song, Ryuu and Kanon had told us (Kaname, actually and then he passed the message to us) that they had to go home since it was getting late. It was already 8.30pm. Kanon had hugged and thanked all three of us before going. Ryuu just gave us a bow, smiling gratefully. I really didn't wanna say goodbye yet, but what could I do?
And that was the last time I saw them.
Just kidding. LOLs.
When they were gone, Ashley had told me what happened with them. Well, since she knew Japanese as much as I do. She could only guess, but from what they gestured at each other, she said she thinks Kanon likes Ryuu.
Kaname too, told me what they conversed about. I guessed right, mostly, but Ryuu's last words was something I didn't really think about.
"He said he wants to tell her tomorrow, but he didn't know how." Kaname said, looking concern as I feel. Looks like I made him and Ash as obsessed over them as me. Well, maybe a just a little bit.
This had left me pondering. It was already the last day of the convention so how can I see them again, really?
And then I remembered I was a judge, and their I have a copy of their application form. I have their contacts... but what will I do with that?
It was when we met with SCANDAL that an idea popped into my head. It was because of Rina's keychain. It was Li Shaoran of Cardcaptor Sakura.
And it was such a great idea I lost no time to say it to Kaname and Ashley. It was a bit embarrasing, since SCANDAL members were there and they looked surprised at my outburst and everything. They asked what was up and I think Kaname told them everything but what I didn't expect was that they offer to help me with my plan. This will be brilliant.
The first phase was to ask Kaname for more translation.
When we came back to the hotel, I had looked up Ryuu's and Kanon's application forms and sent them the letter I asked Kaname to translate.
I first mailed Ryuu and very fortunately he replied at once, asking me what was my plan.
I told him every detail of my idea, though I emphasized that it is still just a suggestion.
Oh yeah, and credits to Mr. Kaname for the quick translations (I'm sorry, Mr. Google, Kaname is much efficient.)
I waited for his next reply. It took a bit of time, but he did soon, and it was a go signal.
So I next mailed Kanon.
'Hey there, we want to invite you tomorrow for the convention's wrap-up party. Same place. It will be a cosplay event. :)' Was the gist of what I sent to Kanon.
After that I commented on Kanon's picture of herself as Cardcaptor Sakura. I added some flailing, just to make sure. And for the other things, I have friends helping me.
And that night, I prepared for one last event before going back to the Philippines.
The next morning, I woke up early feeling very excited indeed. I put on casual clothes as did Ashley. For today, we are the ones behind the camera.
We met with Ryuu during breakfast. He was looking very nervous. I asked him again if he really wanted to do it. He gave me a determined face and nodded.
So we started with our preparations. Kaname had brought Ryuu's costume for today.

Kanon had arrived fifteen minutes before the time I told her. Ryuu (just with his normal clothes) and I had welcomed her. I only had time to compliment her Sakura costume and then Kaname had called me and I excused myself, leaving the two of them alone.
We watched as they talked. Ryuu seems to be nervous but he was still able to tease Kanon. I think they were talking about Kanon being dressed in costume while me and Ryuu just wearing casual clothes.
That was when SCANDAL had started playing their song.
Kanon had looked up to the music and turned back to Ryuu. I imagined she told her she wanted to watch. Ryuu had nodded and the two of them walked towards the music.
A while later, Ryuu had came back and Kaname took him to his costume.
Part 1 was completed and we were entering part 2.
A while later, I went to where Kanon was and she had immediately said, "Ryuu?" which quite clearly say she was asking if I knew where he was. It was part of the plan that Ryuu don't tell her he was going, as if he just disappeared.
I told her 'gomen' and then shrugged. She just nodded looking a bit worried.
"Matte," I then said. And pointed by the stairs. "I think Ryuu is there." I told her in English.
She looked at where I pointed and then turned to me. She said something in Japanese and I think she meant she'll be back. I just nodded as she hurried to the stairs.
That was our que for part 3.

It was a bit mean but... well, I really think she'd appreciate it. We watch from our hiding places as Kanon looked around at the seemingly empty building.
She was looking really worried now. Freak out, more like. But it'll end soon. I'm really sorry, Kanon.
And finally she got to the stage where SCANDAL was supposed to be performing, and of course the bunch of people watching earlier has gone too.
I thought she didn't notice, but thank God she did.
At last our climax.
Ryuu on the stage, donned in his Li Shaoran outfit.
Kanon looked at him, relieved, surprised, bewildered all expressed in her face.
"Ryuu?" I saw Kanon mouth as she approach her.
I saw Ryuu blushing beet red but he had started talking, though stuttering a bit.
"Sakura..." He called. Kanon's eyes widen. I think she just realized Ryuu was dressed as Shaoran. "E-Even..." Ryuu stopped and then inhaled.
He cleared his throat and started again. "E-even if I lose this feeling... I'm sure that I'll just fall in---Ugh," He suddenly groaned and then he said (as Kaname told me after the whole ordeal). "Sorry, Kanon, I can't do this. I'm not good with this. I just... I love you, okay?" He said, sounding annoyed.
I saw Kanon beamed then and though I knew Ryuu didn't say the right line. It was a sort of deja vu when I saw Kanon jumped to Ryuu and called 'Daisuki!"
And all of us came out from our hiding places and shouted "Omedetou!"
So overall, it was a success. They started going out, and even now I chat with them from time to time. And well, I think it is safe to say that I am their number 1 fan. By the way, Ashley got the whole Day 4 event in video cam. I watch it whenever I feel like watching a chic flick. lol. Should I post the video? Nah, I had promised them I won't. But they never mentioned anything about sharing their story. So in the end it wasn't ZaRith (Zack x Aerith) or SyaoKura (Syaoran x Sakura). In the end, it was just plain RyuuNon.
