One thing you can notice about Ken-On talents is that they're very close.

Looking at how Mirai, Jingi, Kawaguchi and Yamamoto interact, Ryosuke couldn't help but smile.

It was different from how he was close to Chii, Yuto-kun, Ryuu, Juri or with anyone from his agency.

It was like they had an air of being 'family.'

Everyone see them like this. And truly, they treat each other like family. Whenever Ryosuke sees Yamamoto and Kawaguchi in school, or when he sees other Ken-On talents in magazines or shows, he couldn't help but think, 'Ah, Mirai-chan's and Jingi's sister/brother.'

This was especially whenever he saw them together in school. He had seen Kawaguchi go to Mirai whenever she had problem understanding a lesson. He had seen the four eat together. Mirai being Mirai would always leave leftover food, but Yamamoto would take it and eat them so as not to waste them. Jingi has always been very protective of them as well. One time, he had taken Kawaguchi to the infirmary when she had migraine. And whenever they had work after school, they would go together to their jimusho.

Mirai in particular always talks about the two or about the other 'siblings.'

So it wasn't much of a surprise to Ryosuke when Mirai suddenly kept talking about Mocomichi Hayami.

It seems they (Mirai, Jingi Kawaguchi, Yamamoto, and some more Ken-On talents) had been invited to Mocomichi's house. They had a little celebration because Mocomichi's mom had apparently just came back from the Philippines. It seems she had stayed there for some years.

Obviously, his mom was very friendly that she had even gave them souvenirs from the Philippines. This along with tales Mocomichi's mom told them, had brought Mirai much interest in the Philippine culture.

Ryosuke sighed as she looked at the girls of his class in a circle in the middle of their classroom intently watching a Filipino movie subbed in Japanese on Jingi's laptop.

It had been a week since his best friend started ignoring everything that isn't work-, school- or Filipino-related. Unfortunately, this included him. It wasn't as if she was completely ignoring him, but she was just too distracted about other stuffs that he could see plainly that it was one-sided whenever they talk.

It's simply, 'he talks.'

Ryosuke almost jumped when someone touched his shoulder.

But it was only Chinen.

"Now you know how it feels whenever you start rambling about Korean stuffs." He said, teasingly. Ryosuke was about to retort but Yuto beat him to it.

"You're not one to talk, Chii. Do you know how we feel whenever you start talking 'Ohno-kun.'?" He said playfully.

"Neither are you." Another one said, Ryosuke turned to see Kamiki. "You're actually the worse, talking about percussion instruments..."

"Not to mention horses, bugs, cameras and even-" Hayato enumerated.

"Suzuka." Shouhei finished looking at Yuto with meaning.

"Shut up." Yuto said, looking around to see if Suzuka had heard Shouhei. He sighed when he saw she was still watching the movie.

"What brought this on?" Ryosuke said, ignoring his friends and looking at Jingi. It was common knowledge among the boys who likes who.

Jingi shrugged. "Mocomichi-san's mom and her talked a lot when we came there. I think Mirai particularly liked Mocomichi-parent's love story. Because after that she looked up Filipino romance movies and asked me to download some of them."

"Their love story? Why? What about it?" Hayato asked Jingi.

Jingi shrugged again. "I don't know. It was just a simple meet up and stuffs. But you know Mirai-chan. She likes those kind of things even though she always say she doesn't think about love."

For a few more days (those rare days that they are both in class, since both of their work were piling up), Ryosuke had endured Mirai's new treatment of him. It was very frustrating since it was usually him who always talks and Mirai to always listen to his every word. She was a great listener and she always tolerates him. He really missed that Mirai.

Feeling a bit desperate, Ryosuke had begged his little sister, Misaki to invite Mirai's little sister, Miyuu to their house the coming Sunday. He knew that Mirai would surely come as well. She always does.

Misaki and Miyuu, they have first known each other when both of them went to one filming of TGQ. They clicked together and became quick friends. But they became closer when Ryosuke asked Mirai to help Misaki in her weak subject, English. Mirai wasn't able to come then so Miyuu came. They studied the whole day and next thing he knew Misaki and Miyuu was even closer than he and Mirai was. They were close, they've known each other for so long and he can pretty much say anything to her except her feelings but Mirai was still a beautiful girl and Ryosuke couldn't help but be a bit reserved when he's with her. There was also that fact that Ryosuke is in love with Mirai. Sometimes he thinks she knows. Well, he's convinced she probably does, so he couldn't help but be careful whenever he was with her so it wouldn't be awkward. A thing most best friends wouldn't do.

Misaki had given Ryosuke a look full of meaning then, but agreed nevertheless.

Sunday morning, Ryosuke woke up early and prepared food for Shida kyoudai. He knew both girls' preferences, with how many times they had visited their house.

Around 1PM the sisters arrived.

"Miyuu-chan, Nee-chan!" Misaki greeted, letting the two in.

"Wait one sec, I'll just go and get my jacket." Misaki suddenly said.

Ryosuke furrowed his brows at this.

"Are you going somewhere?" Ryosuke asked his sister as she grabbed her jacket.

"Yeah. Have you heard that Myth of the Body? We got tickets from Chiharu-nee's boyfriend." Misaki explained, smiling.

"Myth of the Body?" Mirai asked, looking perplexed. "The four of us will be going?"

"Sorry, nee-chan, no." Miyuu said, turning to her sister. "We only got two tickets." She said.

"And tickets are sold out. Chiharu-neechan's boyfriend is a med student, that's why he was able to give some to Nee-chan. It was supposed to be for me and Nii-chan but Nee-chan thought Nii-chan wouldn't be interested since it's all about body parts and scientific stuffs plus it is his off, so he might want to rest. I told her I'll bring along Miyuu and she agreed. She's already there with her boyfriend so we should be going as well." Misaki explained.

"Why didn't you tell me? I shouldn't have come." Mirai told Miyuu.

"Like you'd allow me to leave the house on my own. You're even more protective than dad." Miyuu teased.

"Well, you should have at least told me. Then I wouldn't have brought all these. I wanted to watched some movies with you guys." Mirai said, pouting a bit.

"Yeah, I've even made some food for you guys." Ryosuke said looking at her sister with suspecting eyes.

"Don't be silly." Miyuu said. "You and Nii-chan can go hang out together. It's your off. Go have fun."

"Hai, hai. So the food wouldn't go to waste, either." Misaki supplied, pushing Mirai and Ryosuke gently to the living room.

"But--"

"Wait--"

"Ittekimasu!" The two chorused as they hastily went out and disappeared.

Mirai sighed and plopped down Yamada's couch.

Ryosuke sat besides her. "So what is our plan? You can go home if you want to but eat first before you go..." He said.

Mirai was looking at the ceiling when she sighed again. "No one's home. It'll be lonely there." She said. "I was hoping to hang out with the girls."

Ryosuke smiled as he watched Mirai. Mirai caught it. "What?" She asked. She couldn't help but smile as well.

Ryosuke shrugged. "I don't know. It's like it's been long since I last saw you." He said.

"You saw me last Friday before you left. It's only Sunday." She said, laughing a bit.

"Just a glance." Ryosuke said, shrugging.

"Aww, you miss me." Mirai said, now really laughing. Ryosuke laughed as well. They have always been like this that people assume they were together. But they weren't. They never even talk about those stuffs. Sometimes their conversation would go in that direction but they always change the topic when it became too dangerous.

"Then, can we watch the movie I brought?" Mirai said. "It's a Filipino movie, though..." She said apologetically.

"Sure." Ryosuke said quickly. "You go set up the movie. I'll go get some food." He said and stood up.

Five minutes later, Ryosuke carrying food (tuna sandwich and juice), had found Mirai waiting for him in their living room.

Smiling, Ryosuke placed the food on the table and sat besides her. Mirai then took the remote and played the movie.

"What are we watching?" Ryosuke asked as the movie started.

"The title is 'All My Life.' It's a bit of old but it have good ratings. The plot is interesting as well." Mirai said without removing her eyes from the television.

They were silent for a while, watching.

But Ryosuke spoke once more when the male lead talked.

"Their language is really a bit like ours. Their pronounciation, ne?" He commented. "'Salamat po' was the easiest to say in 'Arigatou.'"

"Un. It's interesting, ne? Hayami-san's mom talked in Filipino when we were there. At first I thought she was speaking in Japanese. She mentioned 'baka' but interestingly, it meant 'cow' in Filipino." She said with a laugh.

"Honto?? That's surprising." Ryosuke said, chuckling as well. "Maybe I should start calling people 'cow'."

"Baka." Mirai said, shaking her head.

"Cow?" Ryosuke joked.

Mirai threw a pillow at him.

For a while they watched the movie, with both of them commenting every now and then. Surprisingly, Ryosuke had found the movie very interesting. Towards the end, Ryosuke had found himself crying with Mirai. It was a sad but heartwarming movie.

When the credits started rolling, both of them still stayed quiet, taking in the story.

But then Mirai turned to Ryosuke. Ryosuke looked back at her.

Then, Mirai laughed. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

Ryosuke smiled. "It's sad, though."

"Un." Mirai nodded. "It was a bit tragic, ne? And after all they've been through." She said sighing. "But I'm still glad you didn't get bored. I had the impression you didn't really like Filipino stuffs."

Ryosuke shook his head with a smile. "I just didnt know much about it so I couldn't really relate to you." He said.

"Well, that's me as well with your Korean-obsession." She said playfully.

"Sorry. " Ryosuke said, chuckling. "But I'm still curious. What is it you like about Filipino movies so much? I mean, it's interesting, but you really really like it. That's rare. The only thing I can classify your 'really really like' is tuna and tomato."

Mirai threw a pillow at him once more, but this time Ryosuke was able to dodge.

"It's true!" Ryosuke said, laughing.

"No it's not. And you're annoying." Mirai said.

Ryosuke shrugged, but waited for her answer.

"Hmm, I guess it's their culture.... The way they confess, specifically." She said.

Ryosuke looked up at this, still waiting for more elaboration.

"It's very different from our way. Here, girls are expected to be the one to confess." She said. "There, it's the boys. And before they confess, they have this courtship. It's a time where they try to win the heart of the girl. Hayami-san's mom told me her love story. Her husband courted her for about two years before she agreed to go out with him."

"Two years?!" Ryosuke exclaimed, very surprised.

"Un." Mirai said, smiling. "Sweet, ne? He patiently waited for her."

Ryosuke was quiet for some time.

"That's so long..." He finally commented when the television screen became blue and the DVD stopped playing. Still, neither move to turn them off.

"Yeah. I just think it's very passionate of them. During that courtship, the guy would prove to the girl how much he loves her." Mirai said.

"But I still think it's a waste..." Ryosuke said cautiously. "So, in the end, if the girl still didn't like the guy she'd just drop him off?"

"Well, yeah. Girls have that power. It's still up to them in the end. That's why they guys have to try hard. But sometimes the girl already likes the guy even before she accepts him. She's just trying to see if the guy really loves her." Mirai said.

"Wouldn't it be better if the guy just tell the girl his feelings and the girl can reject or accept him? I think that's more practical." Ryosuke argued.

"That's true as well... But the girl can fall in love with the guy during courtship. Even if initially she didn't like the guy, but then she gets to know him and realize that he like him, then that's good right? If he confessed immediately, and she gave an immediate answer, then it would have been a waste." Mirai retorted.

"That can be true, but that doesn't always happen..." Ryosuke said.

"Well, you said yourself you think the guys should be the one who confess." Mirai said this time.

Ryosuke was feeling it. Their conversation was going in that direction once more.

"Yeah. But courtship...." Ryosuke trailed off. He wasn't very enthusiastic now. They were entering danger zone.

"But I think if a guy really likes a girl, then he would do it. He'd dedicate himself so that the girl can like him back." Mirai said. "I'd want to be courted..." She muttered softly, looking at the blue screen.

Ryosuke was quiet for a long while, looking at Mirai.

Three minutes passed but still, he didn't said anything.

Finally, Mirai was feeling awkward so she shuffled through the other movies she brought. She inwardly scolded herself for going deep.

"What would you like to watch nex--?"

"I don't believe in courtship." Ryosuke suddenly said. Mirai jumped a bit but turned to him, surprised.

"I still think it's a waste of time." He continued to say, looking straight at her. He closed his eyes and sighed and then looked at Mirai again.

Mirai felt irrationally nervous. She looked straight back at Ryosuke, waiting.

"If I love the person, I'll tell her right away." Ryosuke said with a serious face. "But for you... I'll make an exception."

Mirai's eyes widen at this.

"I love you, Mirai. Just love me now and I'll court you forever."
