And then I found the Whisperings Solo Piano station on Itunes radio. It perfects the midmorning air. (Except for this sappy cover of ABrahms lullaby.)
Highlights from the last two weeks include:
-Installing multiple antivirus programs on Brian's sales computer. In translation, I told him that his computer now had herpes. It would work, but it would never be clean again.
-Rewired stuff, cleaned trailers, prepped refurbished models for resale.
-Read the "best american comics 2007" at B&N. Pretty Good read. Not quite as whimsical as the Flight books, but good concrete reading nonetheless.
-Hauling pop-up camper trailers home from the big show in Montclair.
-Watching the House Cat, Nala, freak out when teased with string-ed toys. Highest Freakout: 2 feet.
-The video store with 1.40 rentals down the street. Also, Boondocks is back with new episodes. Still waiting on the venture brothers.
GIANT windstorms in SoCal tonight. Jesus has a relative near the fire, and Lord Ted is consoling a lady with a house in Malibu. I am reminded of the semiannual barn fires back in Michigan. Since the flat horizon allowed 20 miles of visibility in all directions, night fires were easy to spot. Everyone with a line of sight would show up at the fire and help pull stuff out of the barn if such help was needed. Otherwise, the men would stand on the ditchbank and watch the barn burn. Beats the hell out fishing. I am tempted to boast of indifference at the loss of a 20-million dollar house, but this seems inappropriate.
"Deliverance" is a great movie, but it's not really the kind you can rave to your friends about in good confidence. Those of you who know what this film is famous for may know what I mean, and those of you who don't should plan for an evening of watching Burt Reynolds white-water canoe-riding trip.
Night.
