For the first time, I can say I have truly seen a magnifiscant performance.
I don't think you've lived until you've seen their lasershow streaming across the Erwin center! Truly unbelievable!
The band did some of their Xmas music first, including their amazing song Xmas eve Saravejo 2 times! (2nd with fire) It was the gr8est improv rendition i've ever treated my ears to.
They played some classical music from their Beethoven's Last Night album too. Beethoven was last played before the band played some tunes never before released to the mainstream public.
So here's the lowdown on their new album. (Or as much as they let us know that i remember)
The Album's name is Nightcastle and the songs they played sounded almost haunting. (Halloween album???) Lots of minor chords and amazing guitar riffs that simply stunned me. What was cool was the group played La Grange and Rock and Roll before they got to one of their new pieces. I guess the two songs before it were tributes to the new song, as i heard some similarities in the composition. Wow, it was awesome!
Oh, and did I mention the encore? Who here can say they've heard TSO's version of Carmina Burana: O Fortuna? Or how about Tocatta & Fugue or Linus and Lucy?
There were other pieces played of which i didn't recognize, but that's enough right here.
And, OMG, the fire display! I never saw anything like that before in my life! Multicolored fireworks blasting out of the stage at the same time as an Inferno was set up to shoot out "in the background."
...Just something you'll have to see sometime...
...Power to the Pyrotechnics...Oh yeah...
Rock opera. Something you'll just have to hear for yourself.
