Some updates

this week has been busy glad i didn't work. monday ely was not feeling well so we didn't go swimming. tuesday jes and i went to verizon to get new phones. we both got blackberry's. i got a storm and she got a curve. but because i can't do EVERYTHING on this phone i don't get on the computer and so i forgot to update. tuesday jes called me to say the abs light came on in the silver car (2002 saab) i called to make an appointment at the dealership to get it checked out. while it was there i made the poor choice of having them do the inspection. now i don't know that we got screwed because i really don't what a mass. inspection entails but holy cow what a bill. $2600 later the car passed inspection. i knew it had a fraying wire to the abs sensor and that was went bad on tuesday. i also was aware that it needed ball joints and springs in the front. but i was putting that off because it cost close to $2k. yes yes i did find a piece of spring in the driveway so i should have realized it was a necessity. but....i have been busy. and i generally don't fix it until i causes a problem. the car also needed two front tires and highbeams with a new relay switch. they sucky part...cause dropping $2600 isn't sucky enough...they had my car for 3 days. so i was stuck at home.

my friend mary who was in iraq called on tuesday and wanted to get together on thurs. i figured great i can leave the house. but on thursday she cancelled. :o)~ i had to mail my sister the "milk box" because she had a bunch to send us so i walked to the post office. that was not fun. it's not that far but there is no sidewalk most of the way and it's a busy road.

in other news we bought our plane tickets for spain. we got a fantastic deal. they had flights from boston for $525 with only one stop over but there was a 10 hour lay over in london. that sounded awful for an infant. so we paid $700 for the perfect tickets. red-eye with a short layover in paris. we had to buy a ticket for ely. apparently when you fly overseas you have to pay for your infant. but you get a 90% discount. so his was only $96. on air france.

NO one can go with us. they either can't afford it, have to work or in the case of one friend, can't leave the country because she's on active duty with the army national guard.

yesterday i cleaned the house. that's NOT the news. the news is after washing the bathtub in our bathroom i went downstairs and noticed water on the dining room table. i thought the cat knocked over water. and realized there was no water for him to knock over and then i noticed the dripping from the ceiling. i called maintenance. that's kind of nice since none of this is really my problem. they came out and determined that there was a clog between the toilet and the tub. when playing with the toilet it backed up in the tub. thankfully this was all "clean" toilet water. i hadn't used the toilet since the morning. but it's still toilet water dripping on the dining room table. yuck. so a plumber came out last evening and determined he'd have to come back with a camera to see what the problem was. said plumber is here now. making a mess of my bathroom. thankfully we have two bathrooms because ely had swim lessons this morning and we had to shower afterward.
on a separate but related note...babies are super slippery in the shower. it's only a shower so i had no choice.

right now we are waiting for jes' folks to get here to babysit so we can go golfing. it's the second gorgeous day in a row. i might get use to this.
