World War Z!

If you haven't read World War Z yet, there's either something wrong with you, or you're still waiting for the few copies that are circulating around to get to you. It's a really well done, fun read.

I was trying to find the combination shovel/weighted ax/zombie killer the infantry developed to dispatch zombies so I could write down what I wanted in the mall when the zombies came. I didn't find the name of the weapon/tool but I did find this statement...

"A film adaptation is in development after the rights were obtained by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, with the screenplay being written by Babylon 5 and Rising Stars creator J. Michael Straczynski."

Holy Cow, It's release date is set for 2010 and I'm planning on getting in line next Thursday. Stracynski should do an excellent job. Babylon 5 was one of the best written TV series I've ever watched.

For the record in real life in the zombie filled mall I'd have

Birna - If I don't know she's safe what am I fighting for.
That war mattock from World War Z whatever it's called. It's sci-fi, but I could probably make this weapon in the garage in an hour.
We'd be listening to The Dropkick Murphy's "The Gauntlet."

My fantasy zombie killing spree would be
Leeloo from 5th Element - Because she kicks ass and gives me something to fight for.
I would need no weapon in this fantasy because I'd be a master of Thai Kwon Leap and everyone know you dispatch a zombie by causing head trauma.
We would be listening to "Woo Hoo" by the 5,6,7,8s.

Of course these scenarios all depend on what type of zombie we're facing in that mall.
