Life is good. I haven't had any wacky changes that make me wanna write an entry, but in general the family and job and gaming are all even keel, steady as she goes.
We weathered the recent wicked Northwest storm without a scratch. For the first year we lived here, we lost power when somebody sneezed, but since we got our power outage kit stocked and stashed in an easy-to-find-in-the-dark spot, no problems. We didn't lose power once in this storm, not even a little bit, when power was out all over the coast and in large sections of Eugene. Our latest favorite route into town didn't get flooded even a little in all the nasty rain. We had some stout branches come down in the yard, but nothing serious. Of course, my sympathy is with the folks who are still struggling with the consequences of the storm. But we were fortunate to escape the nastiness.
We rearranged the living room in anticipation of Thanksgiving company. Now, I've never been much of a believer in feng shui, but something we did this time 'round worked like a charm. The room has never felt so whole and inviting before. The seating is circled up a lot better, and the space feels rounder and more conversational. I mention this not so much for its own sake, but because it seems to sum up how things feel in my life overall right now. It's domestic, and it feels balanced.
Life is good.
Now I just need to stop staying up until the wee hours.
