Milli- quick stop in NYC before heading out to Scotland

Connor and Faith step off the elevator into the loft. It's rather dark and very quiet, except for the light bubbling of the fish tank below.

All the arrangements were made - Rachel never asked questions - and they were on their way. It's a long flight from JFK to Glasgow, but Faith looked comfortable with her head resting against his shoulder and her legs draped over his. He had put his arm around her and leaned his head against hers to try to get a few minutes of sleep himself. Generally he had no problems sleeping on the trans-atlantic flights, but this time was different and he couldn't stay asleep longer than forty-five minutes at a time. Maybe it was Faith, maybe it was the fact that she was worried about her powers, maybe it was just him. He couldn't tell.

He hated to wake her, but knew there was no way he would be able to carry her off the plane. Groggily, Faith made it off the plane, through baggage claim and all the other fun checkpoints and out to the car. There was some complaining and grumbling as she got in, but she was soon settled against him again and falling asleep. It was around 10:00am when they got into the car and nearing lunch time when they arrived at the small cottage in the hills.

Faith stepped out of the car and blinked. He saw the smile spread over her face as he stepped up next to her. That was a good sign. An even better sign was when she turned to him and kissed him, long and thorough, much to the dismay of the driver who was pulling luggage out of the trunk of the vehicle. When Faith let go, he smiled at her, then offered a friendly smile to the driver, then a handshake and a 'thank you' before dragging the bags into the cottage.
