Stuck @ work on Labor Day
Stuck at work until 1am today. A 9 hour shift isn't all that bad today. Then a grave shift tomorrow after going to a class for 3 hours :-/
I actually forgot what it was like to work in a casino "for real" that I mean the real meat and potatos holiday weekend during a swing shift. It is just strange to see how everyone that works here interacts. My buddy from back in the cage days was so right about floor dealers just finding some dealer of the opposite sex and having a "work marriage" This place is just screwing with my mind a bit too much. I remember watching this stuff and being a inactive obserser when I worked this shift for real for about 1.5 years. Now that I am just here for a brief periof until they get all of these new hires through the system I don't think I can handle this too much longer. The last thing I want to do is get sucked into this high school alternative universe vortex.
The world outside of this fantasy land is so much more than all of this, I have to remember that first and foremost. Niagara Falls is a shithole, the casino in a shithole town is just even more fucked up, the people working in this casino from a shithole region are beyond belief. Yet I am here along with them, college degree and all :-/
Oh yea, this place pays a bit more than the other jobs around this region. Plus I would have to move to a real metro region since I can't get a "real job" in this area to save my life. Moving to a real region would entail me paying REAL cost of living expenses, not this $450 utilites incl deals that they have around here.
