Last weekend, I attended Creation Chicago Stargate Con. I had a blast. Just as a precursor this will be the SHORT version of my report if you want more indepth versions you should totally check out
elderwitty and her awesome reports for Thursday-Friday and Saturday .
Prior to the con I was quite nervous thanks to some...questionable statements by some

What is this rest you speak of? I have a 5 year old running around (and lest you forget I was raised by wolves) and its entirely too hot ;)

BTW, were you eating like a dog from a bowl or something or what? Or were you singing "The Bare Necessities"? Don't get the raised by wolves thing. o_O
Sorry you're having a heat wave. It's not been too bad here--only low to mid 90s.

Uh...well I'm 24. And I have a 5 year old. Which apparently led Kavan to believe that I was raised by wolves (I get the feeling had I gone one step further and mentioned that I'm a single parent? His poor head would have just exploded.)

It's not really a 'heat wave' its more of a 'too warm for someone born and bred in the cool weather' I can handle to about 75 degrees, but beyond that? I'm SOL, hence why I will NEVER come to Florida in summer ;)

Sorry, do not what SOL is except **shit out of luck**. :-) Hubby & I were both born and bred in New England, hence our burning desire to move back (no pun intended). I used to weigh a lot less and was in better shape because I was outside all the time--hiking, horseback riding, etc. Mind, some of it is "too busy to work out" momma weight, but a lot of it is that it's too hot to be motivated to go outside. And it's not just summer--we're HOT here from March right through to November. Sometimes longer.
**rubs fingers together, praying for just ONE little one million dollar lottery ticket or a fantastic job offer that would move us north** :D

Well there WAS that lady in England who became a grandmother at 29 (in reality) because she had her daughter at 14/15ish and that daughter is now 14/15ish and having a baby.

Replace your "S" with "Sorry" and you have the polite version ;)

Sometimes longer. And see we have the opposite- from like mid-September through Mid-June its wet and ick around here, though then we have years like this year where it basically rained non-stop until about 3 weeks ago. Ugh. (Oh and just to be nice? They say we're getting a "double dip La Nina" this winter which means our SECOND winter with her. We may kill someone around here.) And did I mention that this year? They still haven't even opened some of the state parks? Not for lack of funding but for excess of snow. They kept trying and trying but finally end of July ( ... )

Polite...po lite...pol it e...What is this word? LOL Sorry, I was raised by wolves, too--Sea Wolves, apparently from the potty mouth. :D
Yeah, don't know if I could handle rain ALL the time. We get our afternoon thundershowers here, which get pretty nasty sometimes, and they irritate the Hel..heck out of me. Snow never bothered me when I lived up north, but then, I wasn't trying to get over a mountain pass or anything, either. :)

Not that I'm telling you this- it doesn't rain ALL the time. Just most of it. It's just that its very gray and overcast here most of that time period. Which is almost worse than rain.

THAT'S why my teen has a potty mouth. It really is the mother's fault, just like the therapists say. :D I DO try to be a little better around my kids, but when my Irish is up, the tongue is unbound.

I'm one of those freaks who loves gray days. My favorite time of year in CT was end of fall/winter, when it was cloudy for a good chunk of the time. I just don't like the actual rain, though. The logistics--grocery shopping, errands, and the fact that a lot of my work involves making various deliveries--would drive me guano nuts (see? being polite...). :)

Yes. It's all your fault ;) (Actually mine is just at that 'sponge' stage still. I had to try REALLY hard not to giggle the other day when she correctly used "damn it" in a sentence)

Then you would love it here! We have nice temps here most of the year (generally in winter our 'lows' are in the 20's and our highs are 40-50ish). AND its way cheaper out here (but you get paid more) ;)

Hubby has already told me that he REFUSES to bring me out there because he'd never get me back home. :D That's perfect temps, too. And the job/pricing is completely opposite to here, where the pay is minimum wage but prices are VERY high.
As for the potty mouth, I blame my mother. LOL Actually, I blame my environment. I grew up in New England (have you ever heard Denis Leary's stand-up? Completely typical where I lived), plus I waitressed for many years in a mid-price restaurant. The back rooms of those places are--shall we say, less than kid-friendly?

Haha. Well that's too bad. You should really come visit sometime ;)

Well our minimum wage here is one of the highest in the nation (current MINIMUM wage is $8.67) but depending on career field....you generally make far more.

And here I thought all New Englanders were prissy babies ;) ;) ;) (Okay not ALL but all of the ones I've met)
