Alright, alright. So I'm one of those girls.
Those "I'm back with my boyfriend" girls.
Fuuuuuuck.
It's the right decision, though. We make each other happy. We're both working on changing things, which is how it should be this time around. I'm still getting my own place, because I need to have a life if and when our relationship ends. I am also working on realizing the fact that this is NOT forever; we both want to travel someday in the near future and we probably will decide to take a break when we do. But we can enjoy the time we have now. And if it turns out that when we're finished traveling and experiencing new places and new people that we still want to be together, then we'll end up together. If not, then it wasn't meant to be. My mom really put it in perspective: "Kayleigh, when you were in high school, you couldn't wait to go to college. Now that you're in college, you can't wait to graduate. How about focusing on the present for a change of pace?"
So in the present that I like to call today, Mike and I are doing the best that we can. He's working on being able to open up to me more and not shutting me out, and I'm working on not defining my life through him and our relationship. I'm still going to get a job and a place (I move in October 15th housewarming gifts are welcome) and if Mike can fit into that, then that can only make life better. Here's hoping.
