House: "Five to Nine"

Well, I don't usually post about House, although I've been a fan since the beginning and I never miss an episode. But this episode was unusual enough for me to think more than a bit about it.

I love Cuddy, really I do. Unfortunately, her character has seemed to be losing more and more spine as the seasons progress. She gives in to House all the time, and generally doesn't seem too competent as an administrator (or doctor, as House always tells her). But I was interested to see where a Cuddy-centric episode might take us.

Still. This show is called House. It's a medical mystery show. It's really weird to not really have either in this episode.  A lot of the business stuff was boring, because I don't care about business stuff. Cuddy is not boring, which is good, but she still didn't seem very competent. It was accidental, basically, that the insurance deal worked. (At least she thought of how to fix the situation with the psycho pharmacy lady by herself.) Also, no matter how admiringly it is said, I do not like the epithet thrice used to describe Cuddy tonight. I guess women administrators probably have to deal with that, so maybe it's realistic, but... ugh.

At least House's little smile in the audience at the end was cute.

Overall, I do applaud them for continuing to try new things, but I don't really want them to ever do this again. I also want Lucas to be gone, asap.
