If you haven't yet heard of Born of Hope, the fan-created, award-winning, and seriously awesome Lord of the Rings prequel movie, get thee to its website, http://bornofhope.com/ and watch it - it's free! It tells the story of Aragorn's parents, and does it in a way that you would scarcely believe they didn't have a fairly normal (although clearly not actual LotR-style) movie budget. I recommend it.

(And it was a really good way to indulge in some escapism from today's horrible news, especially since I won't be seeing The Hobbit until Tuesday.)
