I suppose I really should update.

I've been writing some really fucking good lyrics recently. I'm very happy about that. Like today I wrote a song that's like a tribute kind of to Layne Staley and Andrew Wood (singers of Alice In Chains and Mother Love Bone, respectively) both of whom died of heroin overdose. Both of them were amazing singers with beautiful songs that have inspired me.
Andrew Wood died pretty unexpectedly, he was actually out of rehab for like a while and seemingly clean, and then one day his girlfriend just found him dead on the bed, died hours ago with the syringe he used to inject the heroin as the grim witness to his final moments. It came out of nowhere.
Layne Staley got into heroin and became a full, over-the-edge junkie after his girlfriend OD'd on the stuff. He became a recluse and Alice In Chains ceased to be a band not so much because they broke up but because, due to Layne's addiction and reclusiveness, they just stopped doing stuff. Layne barely spoke to his freinds and family anymore. On April 22 2002, paramedics broke down his door to find him dead of a heroin overdose and in an advanced state of decomposition. He had actually died on April 5, leaving a world full of people who loved him behind.

I guess I might as well post the song. It's called "Let Somebody In"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the needle sticks
When your clouds were thick
Why'd you stay locked inside?
When it was highs and pain
And it started to rain
You should've just left your pride

When your knees started to bend
You couldn't quite stand on your own
You should've let somebody in
Because you fell harder alone

Now we're left behind
To read between the lines
From all the things you said
You're still being heard
We all know the words
But what was in your head?

When your knees started to bend
You couldn't quite stand on your own
You should've let somebody in
Because you fell harder alone

I just hope you see
All the lives you reached
Though you didn't stay
I'm just praying now
Though you burned out
Please don't fade away

When your knees started to bend
You couldn't quite stand on your own
You should've let somebody in
Because you fell harder alone

You should've let somebody in
You couldn't go it alone
You should've let somebody in
Life is bigger than you
The world just turned without you
That's not how it should've been
Somebody could've saved you
If you'd just let somebody in
