My body is marked up in bruises from falls this past weekend, my right pinkie toe is swollen and sore, and I've forgotten my cell phone in an inconvenient place the last 2/3 days. Rereading through this journal, I'm reminded how often I used to fall down. I've all but grown out of this habit. I say I "grew out of it", but really it took some thoughtful dedication. I started practicing yoga and my balance and perhaps more importantly my proprioception improved. I also made a conscious effort to try not to fall (seems like everyone else started doing this when they were 2...I took about 25 more years to figure it out). Anyways, my distracted mind and impatient body of the last couple of weeks have brought about a re-occurrence of some inconvenient tendencies of mine. Going to try to slow down, take more time to complete tasks, and practice PKW (phone, keys, wallet) from here on out.
Today's a lovely day. Up earliesh, but not too early. Coffee, egg, and toast. Walk with Zara. Swim across the Mactaquac headpond. Reading, writing, and prepping for class. Afternoon lecture and practical instruction. Pause. Yoga. Prospective job interview/meeting/discussion. Meeting up with a friend from high school I haven't seen in 10+ years tonight.
