A Love Letter

I know I go on a lot about how wonderful my friends are and this blog could really be called “emily convinces herself she is happy through online confessions of fun” and I know that everyone loves their own friends and as much as I think we are unique by any standard we are actually pretty typical 23ish year olds, however, I think I have a pretty sweat deal-friendswise. We came up with some amazing plans to escape to PEI next weekend to a cottage on the ocean. If there is one thing I romanticise, it is beaches in the cold. What I adore is that when this was pitched to one friend the texted response wasn’t questions or half-hearted maybes, but a confirmed ‘hells yes’. As though there wouldn’t be anything more perfect then driving over a ginormous bridge to hang out in a building with no water and scary spiders at the bottom of a hill we can’t drive down because of the snow, make bonfires on the beach in the middle of winter and befriend locals over beers at pubs we’ve never been to. I’m just saying, they’re pretty stellar.

This morning, Terry, the local cbc morning guy suggested that everyone check out the effect that the rising sun was having on the clouds, turning them a beautiful pink. This is what I need from my radio announcers, reminders to appreciate nature and a good morning Fredericton that makes leaving the warm embrace of my bed a little less painful.
