Yeah, Rothbury is all about being sustainable and it's very cool. There are no regular garbage cans, everything is split into garbage, recyclables, and compost, and all the cups and plates are compostable. Every one I saw was manned as well, with a volunteer who could tell you where you should throw each thing you were tossing. Michael Franti made a great joke on stage about it - he said he went to throw away his gum and asked them where it was supposed to go, and they asked him "is it sugar free?" and he said yes, and they told him garbage (maybe? I forget, but that's the gist of the story he told).
The Sherwood forest was beautiful. At night it's so crazy and trippy, full of fun lights and displays. During the daytime you can find tons of people stretched out on hammocks hung between trees enjoying some downtime (they have hammock vendors). It's a beautiful location.
That Radiohead show blew my mind. (Quite literally, minor weed panic sometime during the encore). But going into Bonnaroo I thought "yeah, Radiohead is a decent band, they have some good songs." And I left there thinking "Oh my God, now I understand why people say they are the best band on the planet." I think Modest Mouse is my current fave band, but it's close with Radiohead. Thinking about that show still gives me chills and describing it makes me sound like a raving fanboy, when really, going into the show I was rather lukewarm towards them.
