Character's name: Thaddos
Character's LJ: machinespirits
Character's canon: Warhammer 40k

Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character: Thaddos is a rather high ranked Enginseer, which means he has replaced a lot of his body with bionics, parts of his brain having been replaced by more logic based bionics. This leads to him most often acting emotionless, even if that isn’t the case. He tends to find himself overcome with something resembling joy when he finds new knowledge, something that frustrates him, since he finds that to be a weakness of the flesh. He still finds his old personality bubbling up to the surface, another thing that tends to frustrate him. He got parts of his brain replaced with bionics for a reason, after all.

This shows itself by him becoming even more withdrawn than what he usually is, not that is really noticeable from his usual behaviour. He also becomes a lot more sullen, and more silent. Once again, not really noticeable. It’s the principle of the thing, since he very much is a man of principles. Deviations from the norm is also very annoying, especially thinking outside the box. Which is a very bad thing, especially if applied to machines, since it might upset the Machine spirit. As most Tech Priests, he is not interested in inventing new technology, only in finding old. He might, however, respectfully try to improve on small, small matters.

Due to where he was born and lived, he has developed something akin to a phobia for aliens, due to his world often being threatened by a race of xenos that wishes to devour the galaxy.

Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character OR link to a really good wiki page with their history. In either case, explain where they cut off from the timeline: Thaddos was born in the late 41th millennia, while the 13th Black Crusade was still going, on a Forge World named Triplex Phall, which is constantly threatened by not only Chaos, but also the Tyranids, the aforementioned xenos wishing devour to everything. He was born to a rather happy couple, who may not have been the richest, but they weren’t servitors, either. He showed an affinity to technology at a young age, and so entered novice hood to a tech magos at the age of twelve. During this time, he received his first mechadendrites, which he now possesses a total of nine of.

He advanced out of novice hood and into to the lowest rank of Enginseer as an adult, somewhere in his late twenties. He was assigned to the Legio Victorum, where he served until he reached the rank he has today. He lost an eye during a battle against orks, which isn’t really surprising, and got it replaced by an optical sensor. He also lost parts of his lower jaw in yet another ork battle. A lot of battles were fought, mostly against orks and tyranids, but rarely Chaos, pleasantly enough.

Some time after he lost more body parts and replaced with bionics, he withdrew back to the Forge World he called home, this time as a high ranked Adept. He spent a lot of time repairing what he could of the Titans that was currently stationed at home, and researching old technology. He considered this time of his life to be a very pleasant one. He also acquired even more servitors to follow him around and aid him, some of these gun servitors to stop him from losing all of his new fancy bionics to the orks.

But living in the grim dark universe he lived in, it didn’t last long.

He was soon called out to battle in the God Emperor’s name again, this time to quell an uprising on a hive world. It was all going according to plan, the plan being, burn the heretical… heretics and leave the world to die. It turned out, however, that there was a Chaos cult on the planet. A scarily efficient one, for being a cult. They somehow managed to summon a daemon, which turned out to be Great Unclean One of Nurgle.
Thaddos was not happy about this new development, not that he ever really is, but. Nurglings led to so much repair troubles. Rots and diseases and slimes. It turned out, much to Thaddos’s dismay, that the daemon were surprisingly intelligent. It spread some sustenance, most likely some form of acid, on the legs of the Titan. This led to the Titan’s legs being eaten away, the crew of the Titan being unable to do anything about it, and the Titan fell.

That was when Thaddos, about to call up the Adeptus Astartes and tell them to come here, right now, they are killing my Titans, he was removed. And onto Stacy.

Powers: Well, Thaddos doesn’t really have powers. He does however, have mechanical implants. Amongst these are the mechadendrites, metallic tentacles that can be used from everything from delicate tinkering to self defence. He has nine of these. He has an optical implant that he can zoom out and in with, and he can breathe in most atmospheres due to an inbuilt respirator. He also has somewhat extended life.
