weather forecasts timidly suggest a possibility of temperatures of around fifteen accompanied by unclouded sun, which has me more than excited after the boreal glooms of Marchuary. now i ought to finally purchase the bicycle i've been talking about for so long. i had been thinking of a vintage-like frame to accentuate my undeniable class, but i guess i should just settle for one of the regular models, so much easier to find and less costly.
the last few days provide an above-average number of outings and get-togethers. hence the opportunity i had Saturday night - mere hours before my Sunday work duty at eight, and even less so thanks to daylight time hitting in - to observe that Warsaw isn't so completely devoid of nightlife as it so often appears, or at least not everyday. streets were kinda busy at one ay_em around Teatralny; hopefully this tendency will increase.
on Monday,
Gabriela Kulka and the Raalya guys gave an energetic performance, and the energetic audience applauded them back from backstage five times. pieces from her upcoming album were unveiled, one of which surprised me with the phrase «damn pigeons», personally amusing because it reminds me of
Päivi's frequent expression of this sentence and sentiment. another song's lyrics employed the same philosophic concept as used in one of Battlestar Galactica mantras. small world; small culture.
(the Battlestar finale floats at the back of my head as i'm typing. devotion to that devoted show demands me to mention that i enjoyed the last episode despite its over-the-top conclusion, which somehow managed, as i found it, to shove the entire four years' worth of plot into a different storytelling parenthesis of majuscule science-fiction mythology. a strained tale, but curiously potent perspective-wise in the meta context where the audience of the show turned out to be its protagonist.)
after the concert,
Gosiak and i drifted from bar to bar into that kind of elevated philosophical conversation about our assumptions about life and the universe and everything else, and it was as great and rare as those talks of ours get about the second glass. that night, however, confirmed that finding a place in Warsaw to have that second glass after a certain hour can still be a pain in the ass.
