...your first kitten?

Congratulations. Maybe his name ought to be Trouble.

My very first pet! Except for Puppy, but he was more of a boyfriend than a pet, I am thinking...

Maybe. Or maybe I should just call him Kitty No.

He's adorable.

I never had much trouble naming cats or dogs. But maybe since Puppy was Puppy, Kitty should just be Kitty; I don't know. You'll think of just the right name.

I am not sure it matters considering he won't come to any name so far!

You have had lots of pets, Gren?

The conventional wisdom says that dogs come when you call them, but cats take a message and get back to you when they're good and ready.

I confess: I'm the guy who used to bring home every stray dog and cat he found. So yeah, I've had lots of pets. They're great companions.

How lucky for you! I have had no chance or permission to keep a pet until now. Mr. Edgeworth was so very kind to find one for me, and to obtain Mr. Klavier's permission. I've wanted one, but I didn't want to cause trouble... it's like he knew what my heart asked for.

That's a really sweet story. My only piece of unsolicited advice for you is learn how to trim his claws. Bring him over sometime to say hello, okay?

I think, in his own way, he was giving thanks to me... I do not think he realizes just what a big thing he has given.

I will be sure to! Already he has shredded my clothes and arm a little bit. He doesn't like when I handle his paw, but I will figure it out.

...you will.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

I will, if I think of such a thing.

I wonder if he will like jazz...

We can always play some for him and see how he does. Most cats actually like classical best. It calms them... did you know that? You could try it out on Kitty No and see if it helps.

So far, he is liking Swan Lake... perhaps that should inform his namesake.

And just as I was getting used to Kitty No.

I'm teasing. Have fun with him, and stop by any time.

Kitty No is his punk rock performance name.

I am thinking of naming him Lumi. My friend Rabi, he says this means Snow in Finnish.

I will, of course. I always like seeing you.

Every cat I ever had earned himself about a hundred nicknames. I'm glad to see Lumi, or Kitty No, is well on his way to that.

See you over at the club if not before then?
