Akito. The head of the Sohma household is named Akito. He rules that family with the power of God. For all purposes, he is the God from which the Juunishi have swore loyalty to and the one that binds us all to our fate. The problem with being God is that people fear that which they do not understand and the people do not understand God. While Akito is God, he is also a person. A very lonely person. That loneliness is constant and will separate Akito from the rest of us. While we can walk in the world, Akito can’t and we must endure the pain of that freedom.
There are very few people who know what Akito really is and even fewer who do not fear him. I fear him since I almost died at his hands. The Juunishi fear him out of their bond to him. Our friends fear him for their fates and ours are in his hands. Power makes him a person to be afraid of. The only problem is that Akito is afraid of himself too.
