Haven't entered here in awhile. Working more than I want to, not really doing much performance except at my church job, which makes me sad, but life is like that sometimes. I just don't have the energy I used to when I had a little more 'down' time. I also suspect that age is fast creeping up on me and such opportunities will not come again.

This is officially a kind of 'blog' entry, as I have been doing Battle Royal with Verizon for months now. It's a long, long story, but I've written two letters of complaint, then finally filed a complaint with the FCC and wrote a letter to the President of Verizon. My last summary of all the things they have screwed up was over 20 items long, and still going. It's become almost comedic if it weren't so time-consuming, annoying and exhausting. There's a term for this. It's called "being Verizoned". I've heard others use the term, so I expect it to become as common as Kleenex for tissue paper or Xerox for making copies. It means meeting a wall of unresponsive, irrelevant, uninformed or utterly uninterested 'customer support' representatives who cut you off, give you no answer, refer you to someone else (then cut you off), or put you into the Infinite Voice Menu Loop From Hell.

(sigh) I'm just so TIRED of dealing with those people but it goes on and on and on and because the telecommunications industry has become so consolidated, there are few choices for their services. My only other real option around here (within easy distance of our Nation's Capitol, ironically) is Cox Communications, which (astonishingly) has an even worse reputation than Verizon.

Anyway, "I'm Still Here" as the song goes. :)
