Sorry to all for the failure to update for a while, life has been busy, if a little bizarre. Last weekend I turned into the ultimate sports fan, at one point there was football on BBC1, Tennis on BBC2, F1 on 3, and I was watching the cricket on four, fabulous. I acheived nothing but got to watch sport, woot.
I am starting to settle into real world timetables. I inevitably end up tired by 1030 at night, and inevitably wake up at five to seven in the morning, before I get the noise of the alarm clock. Finished my first major feature yesterday, had to do my first interview, thankfully the guy was a former journalist himself and was really nice to speak to, I hope he won't be too unhappy with the illiterate rubbish that I produced. On the plus side though I get to keep the book I reviewed, which is nice. Free books, I could get to like this job. I am also starting to relax out of my inevitable two week spell of being nervous around people, and am getting on with things. Sadly I haven't got any other debates phrases in yet, but there is always time!
This weekend I am off with John, Miranda and Kizzy to Durham Opens. It is going to be so much fun, I haven't spoken since the Balaka and I kind of miss it. While it is nice to be organising a competition (and rewriting the rulebook, something that hasn't been done since the competition was started) I really enjoy debating, and don't quite want to give it up yet. In a way it is the only thing I am really sad about graduation. I will inevitably stay in touch with my good friends, those who I know as acquaintances I may or may not see, but I wish them all the best, and of course I am close enough that next year all of my friends who remain (which is most of them) are still here. So basically the only real detriment is not being able to speak at IV's, assuaming I am allowed back into LPH after my series of offensive speeches. Anyway, must prepare for the next football match, its tough not having any work to do at night.
