A month ago I wrote
a letter to Frances D. Fergusson, the
retiring president of Vassar College.
Today I recieved a letter from her in the mail dated June 16th and postmarked the 20th.
Needless to say I was delightfully surprised.
I think this is the first time I have sent a missive
to an "important" person who I didn't really know
who actually wrote me back.
Lesson learned: send it by post, not electronically.
She was pleased to hear about my research
and my perennial fantasy about teaching at Vassar.
She thanked me for me for my letter,
for my congratulations on her "graduation" from Vassar,
and for my "kind words about my presidency, Greg".
Thank you Fran.
PS The music is cuz I was just watching on TV
(I love the variety of older movies they show here!)
