Thursday Blues

So I really didn't get a chance to blog much about the last two days in Chicago.

Training wasn't overly exciting, but after pointing out to the trainer that she spoke way too softly, it got slightly better.  I even survived not surfing the web during training.  But I was there to learn (just like I should be here to work, but I'm waiting for someone to hurry up and finish printing stuff....)

So, we went back to the hotel to hang out and wait for poor Brian to finish a project he had to do for someone (I can't wait for him to come over to our department!!!!)  Once he called, we did dinner at Applebee's.  I was all for Yanni's Greek Restaurant, but I think everyone was tired and just blah at that point, so we did something we knew what we would get.  After last night's monstrosity, I ate a little healthier.  Salmon, salad, rice.  Ugh.  But, had to be done.

And now on to the pic goodness.

Driving in to the city

This was a gorgeous pic and makes me almost want to live there in the summer.  Almost.

This is a little blurry.  Now I know why Chicago is "the Windy City"

We ended up back on the pier Tuesday night so that we could souvenir shop.  That is a really awesome and pretty place to hang out.

Wednesday was fun getting to the airport.  We pulled up at 3:51 I think.  Our flight started boarding at 4:30.  None of us thought we were going to make it.  I had to check luggage, we had to return the car, get through security.  We were chewing fingernails.  I made it through baggage check in under 5 minutes and surprisingly, we made it through security in less than 10.  Made it to the gate with 15 minutes to spare.  I have to give kudos to the flight attendants though.  They made the trip home enjoyable.  :)  Definitely a great sense of humor.  I was glad to get on the ground because it meant I was home and heading back to Pete's waiting arms.

I got home and found I had a present from the TSA.  I am going to get out of a major city without something being searched someday.  Really, I am.  But that in itself told me that we made it to the airport in plenty of time.

And today.  Back to the grind.  Get caught up on a few things and then find a good PDF file for B3.

So, that was the trip in a nutshell.

Have a great day!
