I used to hate it. Really. I did. But thanks to the advent of giftcards. I don't have much of a choice. But I love clearance sales and really big sales too. Its the best way to buy clothes. 60% off clearance. 75% off the price of something. :) Awesome.
Anyways, spent the day shopping with Millie and Shauna. We went to Boscov's. Now, I was afraid I wouldn't find much of anything to spend two giftcards on. Because I am picky and it is a pain in the you know where to find petite clothing. And first trip through the Petites. Nothing jumped out at me. Drat. I can't wear Misses pants...and the sleeves on the tops are usually too long. crap. Oh well. If I don't find anything this trip... *I guess I can come back later** I really didn't want to buy summer stuff. Well. 15 minutes later-I had 5 tops and two skirts. Go me :) Best part? They all LOOKED good on me :) And they all fit!!!!! WHOO HOO!!!! I still need to invest in some slacks...but that will be a trip to Penney's as I have to return something there. So I was excited. And best part. I spent both gift cards, and some cash. but between the sales and the coupon I had-I did pretty darn good! (I need to go back and look at the receipt-but I think I averaged $10 an item?) But we had lots of fun shopping and we had dinner at the Olive Garden. :) Now to collect my mom and spend a day shopping with her.
The rest of the week.
knisha and I went out for the first time on New Year's Eve. We went down to Southside and did Sushi for dinner at the Little Tokyo Bistro (I think that was the name of it....formerly Sushi Two) Then we went to Mario's Southside Saloon to ring in the new year. It was different not celebrating with everyone, but it was fun nonetheless. I got a little antsy because I am not a person who likes crowds. So after midnite it got a little crazy. But...the bartender gave us a couple of free drinks (cherry jolly ranchers. good stuff....) so it was cool :) We left there and headed down to the Smiling Moose. Then home to crash and get a couple of hours of sleep before the invasion on New Year's. New Year's with the family was okay. Good food. I have to thank all of my helpers. I couldn't have thrown a good meal together without them :)
The rest of the week was uneventful. Friday nite Petey played pinball and I gamed with
mister_grumpy and
gwenix and one of their friends. I've enjoyed gaming with them because I'm learning so many new games hanging out with them. Attack of the Killer Bunnies (
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3699), a Marvel Game (
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/14808), a differnet Trivial Pursuit game and.... Thurns and Taxis (
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/21790). So its been cool.
Life here is okay. I really really need to find a new job. I'm finally busy at work, but I have no support whatsoever. My boss has been there one full day out of three and we won't get started on the other one.
I'm trying to stick to some resolutions this year. But its proving difficult. But seeing as there are things about me I don't like to begin with that I've been trying to work on, but... work is definitely one of those areas I'm struggling with. I don't really want to talk bad, but they are making it soooo difficult for me. And I shouldn't worry about it. But it does impact me when they aren't doing their work because then I have nowhere to go when I feel overwhelmed. But hence why I want to work on getting out of there this year. Another resolution is to eat better. I'm trying to eat more veggies :) I'm doing okay with it for the most part. But I'm starting to feel like a bunny rabbit. I've had salad three days in a row as a side. I need to lay off of the junk eating too. I have a list on facebook of my resolution...so we'll see how I do.
Okay-I'm off to go watch the Steelers and get some things done on here so that I can work on my mystery quilt. I got the backing for my $10 quilt, so I want to get started on that as soon as possible. (I thought about machine quilting it-but I like having stuff I can work on in front of the TV and I am determined to spend less time on the comp this year. Okay-so not doing well with that so far....)
Hope you're having a Great weekend and GO STEELERS!
