Tentative "WTF" for Nintendo today...
Apparently, Nintendo is planning to implement a "Pay To Play" online scheme for certain, yet to be announced titles.
That is, if you want to play the game online, you have to pay more $.
They aren't saying how much more, or how often you'll need to pay (e.g- is it a one time charge, a monthly thing... etc). And I guess I can sort of understand how this could possibly become an issue in the future, especially if the Wii gets more online capable games and they have to beef up their infrastructure to compensate, but I can't help but feel a tad miffed about this.
The online offerings thus far haven't been especially earth shattering, so unless the games they're going to tack this onto have some extremely kickass features, what's the point? Other than to wring some more money out of us... and it's isnt like Nintendo isn't practically printing money with their DS and Wii sales...
