First of all the AP, via Yahoo! news,
is reporting that one of the top ten spammers in the world has been arrested, and we should see a notable drop in junk mail flowing into our inboxes:
Robert Alan Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised "zombie" computers to send out millions upon millions of spam e-mails.
"He's one of the top 10 spammers in the world," said Tim Cranton, a Microsoft Corp. lawyer who is senior director of the company's Worldwide Internet Safety Programs. "He's a huge problem for our customers. This is a very good day."
Now, if they'd only go all Annie Wilkes in
Misery on him...
* * *
Secondly, the
heartwarming tale of a mother, her troubled son, a computer tech and the horse-rape porn the tech discovers on the son's laptop... in front of the mother.
Yeah. Ugh.
Thankfully, the worst I ever dealt with was some computer forensic work I did for a University (searching through cache and cookies) to determine if a grad student was using an isolated school computer for his personal spank-bank.
He was, btw.
I didn't have to reveal this in front of him, or confront him about it at least. I just reported it, and walked away.
