Hey, check it out! I've been offered a position to teach classical and jazz bass at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point!
I received this email recently and I wanted to share my achievement with you all. I'd take the job, but I don't want to leave my friends and family in LA and the surrounding area (that's for you Ian and Lenin) and I don't have the credentials either. Oh well, here it is anyway:

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT NO.______________________
Position: Artist Teacher of Bass / Jazz Studies
Position Description: The primary responsibility in this position will be in double bass instruction and performance in both jazz and classical music. The successful candidate will required to actively recruit and maintain a successful double bass studio. Additional responsibilities will include teaching in the jazz studies area.
Department/ University Description: Assistant Professor - Tenure Track
Qualifications: Master’s degree with documented performance and teaching experience preferred. The successful candidate will have strong performance abilities in classical and jazz music and significant expertise in teaching. Public school experience is preferred.
Appointment Date: August 2005
Terms of Employment: This is a tenure track, nine month appointment at the assistant professor or instructor level. Rank and salary will be determined by the background and credentials of the successful candidate.
Application Procedure A complete file will consist of recent recording of both jazz and classical performance, three letters of recommendation, a detailed resume of teaching,scholarship/creative activity, and service to the profession, with supporting credentials and transcripts. (Copies of transcripts are acceptable until final candidate is chosen.)
