OK I'm going to try evaluating the OC a new way this time. Introducing...Hot and Not!
Hot: Seth and Sandy's argument.
Not: Summer trying to steal the letter when Sandy was RIGHT THERE.
Hot: Sandy becoming Sandy again.
Not: Sandy's lame speech, but that's excusable.
Hot: Marissa seducing the guy (albeit a bit random).
Not: My dad, who already hates the show, choosing the moment she says "Take off your pants" to walk in.
Hot: Season 1/early Season 3 flashbacks.
Not: "Lil' Bitch" is back. *le sigh*
Hot: Seth and Kirsten time awwwww, and not overdoing the relapsing.
Not: No TT. But that's understandable.
Hot: Theresa scraping Ryan in her speech about how he hasn't changed.
Not: Ryan being a dumbass. (Thank goodness he didn't get in the car, but why didn't he just drive off in the first place??)
Hot: More self-mocking through way of the Valley.
Not: OBVIE. (I'd like to say here I'm quite mortified that I was able to tell that the friend was Lucy Hale from American Juniors, a show I never watched. And also that her character and my sister have the same name, and nobody noticed.)
Preview: A hearty WTF. Color me confused: they say the night will end in "tragedy," but that one of them "may" die. So which is it? Are they using "tragedy" loosely, or does "may die" = "will die"? Ahhh. If they kill off any of those characters though, I will be PISSED beyond words. Yes, even Marissa. For better or for worse, she gives this show focus, certain elements of it will fall apart without her. And a general rule of thumb, NEVER completely accept spoilers about finales, so many of them have been wrong in the past.
Also, I hope this episode more or less ended the weaker Kirsten we've been seeing recently. I know this year (ok, two years) has been rough on her, but I'd love to see her not only sticking by Sandy through anything that may happen (though it looks like nothing will), but becoming the strong person she was in S1.
