so things have, in fact, begun to pick up around here. first and foremost i got a job, which always helps to pass the time. i'm working at asi, which is this gymnastics place. i'm on the camp staff, which is kind of glorified baby-sitting with much higher risks. we have to watch kids as they go on all this equipment in the gym, and we're supposed to simultaneously make sure they're having a good time, discipline them, and make sure they're getting along with one another. easy right? shut your mouth. the other day i got the group of 3-5 year olds, and it was the most stressful situation i've been in in a long time. i mean, it was even worse than usual because i was working the afternoon shift, so by that time of day, the little ones are pretty tired, which means they're also restless and grumpy. it was all bad.
but still, i'll take that over sitting on my butt at home everyday. seriously.
and, GET THIS, i started going to the gym! granted, i've only been twice, but i've been twice in ONE WEEK. a new record, if i do say so myself.
and you probably think i'm joking.
but really, i went the first day out of boredom, but when i left i actually felt better. not in a "i just felt the fat burning off!" kind of way, but i didn't feel like a complete slob anymore. which is an improvement, yes?
not much more is going on right now, aside from the fact that jeff is coming to visit me in a week and i'm actually really excited about it. i guess all of this is still a little strange to me, because i just usually don't look forward to people. like, i'll let myself look forward to events, but i stopped depending on people a long time ago, so it's refreshing to let somebody mean something to me. anyways, i hope he's not bored to death while he's here. although if nothing else is exciting, john mayer next friday should be pretty amazing. we both love him, and music is definitely one of things that we bonded over, so i think it'll be a really good experience to share with one another. i mean, the seats aren't great or anything, but we'll still be there.
p.s. i'm obsessed with maroon 5's new album. even if they're not your "style" i think everyone should give the cd a try. the worst thing that can happen is you don't like it, right?
love, love, love.
