I've been lucky enough to not have gotten on an airplane or near the airport for these last 3 weeks. Woo! To try to feel like an actual member of the community I live in, I've done 2 things this week - met Erin for lunch on Thursday to catch up on holiday stuff and the Dancing With the Stars show at our brand-new Cosi, and then today, we wandered about the
Midtown Global Market because I'd never been there. Plus, it seemed like a good time to go since the Minneapolis newspaper published an article this week about how it hadn't been doing well lately. Today it was very busy, which I hope is a good sign! We both had amazing food from
La Sirena Gorda where I had Mahi Mahi Chipotle Tostadas and Erin had fresh ceviche on tostadas. Yum! Warm chocolate chip cookies rounded out a great lunch and it was a very nice way to spend a Saturday morning/early afternoon.
Now Chris and I are both home and things on the to do list this weekend include putting up plastic on the remaining windows upstairs and taking down the Christmas tree. I cleaned out my storage closet off the kitchen the other night and it was something that needed to be done and was long overdue, so the decorations should be more easily put away than they were able to get out. We also bought a PS3 before Christmas, so there might be some movie watching done or some golfing played...who knows. Kinda nice to have a lazy day with no formal plans for the night given the madness of these last few weekends.
I am remiss in wishing several people a happy birthday, including
northatlantic,
rainbow1530, and
demrepic. I hope you all had wonderful days! I am on time to wish
kiffle a very happy birthday, tho. Hope the continuation of your birthday weekend continues to be fun and that you have a wonderful year.
Chores call, so off I go. Happy weekend, all.
