Ah, home sweet hotel room.
C and I spent a wonderful weekend visiting my very good friend, Jenny, her husband, Les, and their 18 month old daughter, Avery, this weekend in North Carolina. We were treated to some rain and wind from Tropical Storm Ernesto on our ways in Thursday evening, an 8 hour power outage on Friday (which made taking conference calls and trying to get work done pretty interesting...), then 2 glorious days of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday. With the sunshine leading the way, we headed up to Jenny's parent's house on
Lake Gaston, about 90 minutes from where they live in Raleigh. The men fished, Jenny, Avery, and I sunned and played in the water, and we ate - a ton. We also drank, played some cards, and just generally had a nice, relaxing weekend. C caught one of the biggest bass he's ever caught and we got it on film, which is awesome - he's already asked if we can put in our reservation for at least 3 visits next year! Overall, we both had a wonderful time and Jenny, Les, and Jenny's parents were amazing hosts, as always.
I've got no good reason to be as tired as I am, but I'm going to go with it and try to get a good night's rest. This week is going to be brutal, I can already tell.
