Sweet Jesus it's hot outside. Weather.com tells me the actual temperature is only 99 degrees, but with the heat index, it's 106. Yikes. My plans for a walk tonight have been foiled, so exerciseing inside is on deck. My plants don't look so good, even though I've watered them every day for the last 3, so I'll continue with that approach in the hopes they'll get better once this horrific heat goes away.
Home, home, home for the first workday of the next 3 weeks. I slept so well last night knowing I didn't have to get up at the ass crack and also knowing I didn't have to run around and get ready today to head to the airport tonight. In the almost 2 years I've owned my house, this will be the longest consecutive period of time I'll have spent in it. Woooooo!
Last week in Atlanta flew by in a blur - got one training walk in, dinner at a friend's house Tuesday, team outing Wednesday, then a fabulous dinner with
topaz119 on Thursday night at Twist. We had a fabulous time chatting about Lance, food, the House of Boys, and a little bit of work. I'm very much looking forward to future get togethers!
Went home for a party for my somewhat newly engaged cousin and his fiancee; a waterfight ensued and cooled everyone off. It was great to catch up with my family and see my Grandma, too; my mom, dad, brother, C and I played cards afterward and stayed put in the air conditioned house. This weekend was surely not one to spend much time outside in MN since it was insanely hot and humid.
I got caught up on recorded TV shows yesterday and am still soinlove with "So You Think You Can Dance." It's my favorite show of the summer! I am enjoying Project Runway but wonder if the first two seasons didn't have better characters... Something just seems off with it so far this season - am I the only one who feels that way?
Since I haven't posted in honor of or since last week's big news, I just have to say how much I love Lance. I really, truly hope this brings him personal peace and continued happiness.
ETA - happy, happy birthday,
lovelypoet! Hope you had a great day!
