So, there's an [adult swim] show called "Stroker and Hoop" that gets aired from time to time. The titular characters are people, but there's also a car (named "Car," iirc) that is sort of like the car from Knight Rider - smart, talks, etc. - except it's very 80s and orange (as opposed to very 80s and black). Stroker, Hoop, and Car go around fighting bad guys in their own bumbling way during each episode, usually involving bimbos, destruction, mayhem, and bad plots.
I got an e-mail from MINI USA advertising their new spring ad blitz (why they feel the need to advertise to people who already own a MINI, I don't know). It's going to be a series of shorts about a supposedly bad-ass guy and his smart Mini Cooper going cross country to pick up an important package, while encountering ninjas and chicks, picking up beef jerky, and visiting a bikini car wash. The title is "Hammer and Coop." ... I guess they figure that 99.9% of their "target audience" for MINI are going to be too trendy to degrade themselves by watching 'crude' cartoon shows, so no one will ever notice the similarities! Brilliant! ~_^
