I hate how people dismiss job stress like "oh, at least you have a job!" Yeah, thanks for the obvious, but no job is without stress and some jobs are stressful enough to affect your life OUTSIDE of work.

A hostile work environment (and not having enough help is hostile) really fucks a person up - and this definitely sounds like a hostile work environment!

Also, good for you for buying yourself something! You deserve fun things, too!

Totally feel for ya, that's my work environment too, minus any opportunity to stress eat some of the product. I've been tempted to call HR a few times but it never seems to do anything for the people who do; they usually end disappearing instead.

i'd be waving that knife around threatening balls if i heard that sentence about jobs again. i tend to get a little irate over being told anything that even remotely suggests i should shut up and take it.
