oh wow
Okay, hello. Livejournal keeps sending me emails telling me that one of my friends posted an entry for the first time in a while, and that's honestly kind of fun. I like remembering people, or struggling to remember people anyway. I recently did a thread on Mastodon that was "1 like = 1 biographical sketch of a person I shared a punk rock message board with from 2002-2005" and I had to stop after around 40 of them. That's a lot of people to remember for 15 years! So I guess I'm just hoping that if I write this and post it, someone will get an email and think, "oh wow, I remember her." Here's what I'm up to:
1. I write a newsletter about Lifetime movies. It is called Don't Threaten Me With a Good Lifetime and it is very good. You can subscribe here. I assume you know how Substack works by now.
1a. I recently heard the song "Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time" by Fall Out Boy for the first time and I was astonished by how incredibly weird it is. What is Fall Out Boy. How did we, as a culture, let this happen.
2. I cohost a podcast about advice columns, called We'll Take This One. It lives wherever you get podcasts. You know where to get podcasts. The podcast is, also, very good.
3. That's all I'm up to, really, I am out of work because I dropped out of college like a real dingus. I got a job I really liked last December but unfortunately it is closed for the duration of the pandemic. It is beyond absurd to me that writing is the only way I get paid now, this is not a thing I had ever envisioned for myself as an adult, but here we are.
