hey, i took my 8 am enviro econ cumulative final... and i'm pretty sure i scored a b! maybe. even. an. a. minus. whoo!!! that was amazing. the limited parts that i studied last night were exactly what were on the test!! and studying meant working mostly productively at the coffeehouse for a few hours altogether, hanging out and cleaning with neil and pat, talking with nicole and steph, and coming home to thrash around (sorry under-dwelling roommates, it was fun but inconsiderate) with christina and alex and andrew and ian.

another lucky thing: i woke up this morning to my alarm at 5, which i snoozed once i think. then i kept going back to sleep over and over without setting the alarm. and then oh-jesus-muthafuckin-christ, i woke up at 7:47!! Just a hair under the wire in the nick of time.

now... i think i go to skokie, YAY! i am super excited to see my sisters (and soon-to-be-brother-in-law). super super super excited. this weekend, i get to do the things i haven;t done in months (truly clean my room) or weeks (laundry + brush up on language stuff + read for fun) or days (shower and cook).

but i must remember that i work open -1230 or 2 monday through wednesday next week, have a paper due on friday (only 5-7 pages -> on intellectual property rights as an impediment to biodiversity conservation and sustainability), and have the monster paper due "whenever i want" (aiming for the end of may). oh. and i'm meeting with the prof. for my environmental capstone on monday!

there's also a coho cookout in the back of the coffeehouse (a grill even!) next week, plenty of time for capoeira, and working out my distinction project for i.s./spanish. it's going to be a health services in IL outreach thing with the campaign for better healthcare. they don't know this yet, but here is my plan: hopefully i can design an outreach program linking community members from the university to spanish-speaking community members to raise awareness about eligibility and resources for affordable healthcare. and hopefully i can apply what i've learned about participatory project design and urban planning to do all this. the point of making it a distinction project is to ensure that i follow through; these ideas have been bouncing around in my mind for so long, but i have completely lacked the time and energy to do something about it (and also, cooperative contacts! but the chicago cbhc office is super busy, so i shouldn't be unreasonable.)

if i haven't seen (most of) you in a while, or have been inordinately curt with you lately, things will be remedied soon. hopefully with some bike rides too.

love,
ros
