Okay, first off, I have rainbow toenails. That makes me squee every time I look down, you have no idea. It's like having Smarties on your feet.
Aside from that, I'd like to take back anything negative I said about the change to Tria markers. I checked out their website this morning and I'm frankly in awe of what they've done.
I'm not one of those people who favours one brand over another, having religiously bought both Trias and Prismas, along with Staedler (
Mars Graphic 3000 Duo, what? YES PLZ). I have to admit, though, that I think Letraset's Tria line is going to come out on top with these changes.. I mean, I read the entire site to learn everything I could, and they've basically refined Trias the point of perfection. I commented to Meg that if they introduced brush pens, they'd corner the market.
Guess what they already have on every pen.
On top of the
new colour system, they've made every pen
completely customizable. You can choose which nibs you want to use and basically build your own marker. It's pretty amazing, really.
I know now why they did away with the smallest nib, too. I have to admit, I've been colouring on more than a few occasions and the nib just went dry. You practically have to smash it into the page to get it to fill again.. Also, sometimes the extra nib wouldn't attach to the pen, and it would dry up while leaving the under-nib exposed to the air to dry up in turn. Seriously not cool when they cost four bucks a pen..
No more.
The new nib is broader, but if you think about it you have just as much control over the ink as you did with the small nib so long as you don't press too hard. This way the nib never dries up and gets all scratchy like it used to. It's a trade up, just something new to learn to use.
So I get way too excited about art supplies, it seems. o_o
